The suspect was identified by five law enforcement sources in Washington and Los Angeles as John Zawahri, in his 20s.
Other sources with knowledge of the investigation said detectives believe the shooting was sparked by a family dispute of some kind but emphasized that the investigation was still in its early stages.

Earlier it was report that this scumbag's name was Christopher. So is it John? Chris? Christopher? Was it just a nick name? We can't count on the LA Times to report anything accurately. Appears the blogs had it wrong when they thought the shooter was the older brother Chris based on, I believe, witness(es) descriptions that the shooter was between 25 to 35 years old.
The murdered father was a ham, N6KXL.

The Shooter is a White Male in his 20s.
When the local papers and TV news kept delaying the identity of the gunman --saying his family lived out of the country, even though he was a White Male -- I knew he had to be anything BUT a White Male. Reminded me of the Zimmerman case when the media just couldn't let go of the "White Male" killer theme.
Samir is a name used by some Coptic Christians, who originate in the Middle East.
FWIW, “Samir” is a middle-eastern name much more common among middle-eastern Christians than among muslims.

Yea, that's easy when you procreate with your first cousin. They have proven the wisdom of not inbreeding. With German Shepard's, you get hip displasia, with “human beings” you get something that has the IQ of a amoeba. Then you let it roam the earth with weapons of war. Not a good idea.
