Good morning AB.

Somebody don’t tell Rocklobster that I have been named....TADA! A Taste of Home Field Editor!

I don’t cook worth a lick but I got a free subscription, a bag of goodies, including a bright red apron that I am wearing now. Maybe I shall send a picture.

Watching Fox News Sunday. Meet the Depressed not on. Imagine that....something called the French Open. I can’t imagine the logic of not airing an important Sunday talk show because of...well what the hey is the French Open anyway.

As always, thank you AB for doing this thread. Went to church yesterday (more on this later) and am home all day today.

Paul: “Bad police work. We didn’t know about the Marathon Bombers because they were so busy looking at our phone records”

“We have a government that appears to target people because of their political beliefs.”

Remember the feigned outrage when Bush was accused of going after Library records?

Glen Greenwold on ABC - Companies/govt should have public discussions on what access/what data should be collected.

Has not been contacted by anyone in the govt regarding any leak investigation - open to discussions. But, reminds George that there’s a thing called the Constitution, he has the right to freedom of the press....won’t be intimidated or silenced. Govt intimidates the Press/other Americans with criminal prosecution when they don’t want the public to find out what they’re doing.

George says govt says Glen’s source is a Double agent. Glen won’t confirm there is only one source. Govt always tries to demonize whistleblowers.

You should expect more revelations from Greenwold - woohoo!

Wow, Rand Paul just brought up the arms deal between Libya and Syria through Turkey was the reason for Benghazi. He also said it was illegal.

That is big.

Di Fi on ABC This Week now. Her face looks like a cross between a plaster mold and a mummy.

Feinstein is scolding us for not understanding the nuances of intelligence. Ain't that ironic!

It occurs to me that the only reason the IRS scandal is in a scandal in the first place is because legislation started with good intentions decided that our government would use tax status as a controlling factor in free speech.

As a result, the federal government agency (IRS) that is supposed to be full of eye-shade bean counters and responsible for collecting revenue and enforcing the rules related to revenue and income taxation is now the "GateKeeper to the First Amendment".

Left to it's own devices, the IRS should be focusing on the most improbable task assigned to man; taking the tax legislation developed with good intentions and (usually) economic ignorance, developing forms and instructions, and distributing information that will allow citizens of this country a fighting chance of being to complete an income tax return correctly.

Instead we are adding the task of administering Health Care rules to the "Freedom of Speech" duties this agency has to accomplish. And, oh, by the way, try to collect enough taxes to keep the country out of bankruptcy. Or at least far enough out of BK that Ben Bernake can continue to print cash in large bills and we can pretend that this is working.

Hayden pulled it out of his arse too. Says there has to be a specific reason to access the database that is terrorist-related. Hayden says you have to identify who the bad guys are. He neglects that the current Admin considers conservatives to be the bad guys. Hence the door opens for abuse. Duh.

Hayden says there are no records of abuse.

And how long did the IRS abuse the Tea Party before records of such came out? Another problem.

Michael Hayden says ALL the records are taken and held.
He purports that the system “works” because both Obama
and Bush wanted it.
(not a normal definition of effective, is it)

Michael Hayden says that the data base is conscious
and that the pRes_ _ent asks it questions.
“Data base, does %%%%% talk to &&&&&&?”

Is he kidding?

He purports the data base is never otherwise examined.

The fact remains, everyone in the DNC, Moslem Brotherhood,
and Soros have access directly through the White Hut.

Michael Hayden supports Obama and this misuse of data.
No mention is made of their ignoring the Boston bombers.

Good for him. Now someone in the admin will have to address the charge he made.

ABC - Diane Feinstein says programs are within the law.

there are limited number of people that have access to the information (oh, well, now I’m relievied...not)

Information that is being collected is only the information that you see on your phone bill - this info has not been deemed personal private information by the supreme court. (?????really????)

Drops two Islamic names with their stories and says this is what it’s been used for. (I’m so impressed! again, not.... - so why did we need over 300 million other peoples’ information????!!!!)

Now brings up 911 and the bodies jumping out of the building -

Rep. Mike Rogers (house intelligence?) says govt isn’t reading peoples’ emails. Companies can’t afford to save all the billing information....so what they do is put that info in a box. When a particular perp is being considered, NSA goes to that box and extracts that info.- not on everyone.

(I have a question - If the company can’t afford to save all that info, then who is doing the saving????? Sounds like NSA gets all the billing info and saves it otherwise Rogers statement wouldn’t make any sense.)

George plays Clappers’ testimony that the govt collects info on Americans - Diane defends him saying there is no one more honest than Jim....(ummmm, Diane - he lied!)

Mike Rogers says Greenwold doesn’t have a clue how these programs work....neither did the source. They are dangerous.)(

FNS

Regarding data mining:

Hayden: No abuse under Bush. Not abuse under Obama.

a.k.a. Trust us. We’re going this for your own good. So what if we missed the Boston bombers. We are closing in on all of those evil Tea Party people and gun owners — for the common good, of course.

I can’t imagine the logic of not airing an important Sunday talk show because of...well what the hey is the French Open anyway.

MHO, after viewing the lineups on the other "shows" (with the possible...very possible...exception of Fox), we would get more objective reporting watching the tennis.

All the libs are doing right now is pushing some cannon fodder out to push the spin du jour whilst hiding out and hoping for something, ANYTHING to happen to divert attention.

If they can't have a disaster happen pretty soon, I have no doubt at all that the criminal bums would stage one.
