No payments for seven years?
Goobers! There’s been a lot of misspellings in headlines recently’
Golly gee. I wonder which of these three groups will get screwed the most? I wonder which group will benefit the most? I think I saw this movie before when Obama ripped off the bond holders of the car companies so that he could throw money at the UAW.
What could go wrong?
As far as I know, this manager is serious about curtailing the benefits of the union. If this is true, the unions will likely suffer the biggest hits.
No surprise here. Most anyone with any sense at all has seen this coming for quite a few years now, Dems still trying to have it both ways.
Somehow I think they'll get it...and the taxpayer will hardly miss it..../s
Shut it down. Raze it and call it Liberalism National Monument.
I have an idea...let’s have a fund raiser for Detroit - Detroit could make something and sell it and use the profits for funding all this debt - we need lots of money, so we should start with some big ticket items - like cars or trucks or something - I mean, who wouldn’t want to pay more than international market rates for a vehicle if its for a good cause?
Of course, we would need to have the EPA allow us to do it, the IRS to do it, the unions to do it, the City Fathers to do it, the bankers to do it, ... oh forget it, we can get some other country to make the cars...
Glad they are able to find a place for the Baby Jesus to sleep before next Christmas...
Also, we could see where this was going with the bankruptcy years ago.
of course if it happens, it'll be a shot across the bow for other cities/states and their greedy unions...

But no matter what happens, there’s no way that Detroit can pay back their debt. That money is gone and ain’t coming back. And I don’t particularly feel sorry for anyone who loaned money to Detroit: they should have fuching better known better (as Vinnie would say in “Pulp Fiction”).

Only if Sal and Vito aren’t invited...
Makes me embarrassed to say I'm from Michigan. This is what Liberals do to minorities, and what liberal, hopeless, fatherless minorities do to a once beautiful city.
Just sad.

They will find out if those drawing UAW pensions and City of Detroit pensions will get still both
BOHICA!
"The plan also proposes to modify retiree health insurance, with many retirees obtaining benefits from Medicare or the healthcare exchanges under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act."
The City that voted for Obama and Obamacare in huge percentages will now get to see Obamacare in it's full regalia vs. their Cadillac Plan with the City...
I predict that will go over like a Loud Fart in Church..
