NSA Leaker Shopped His Story Around
New York Magazine ^ | 6/9/13 | Adam Martin

Posted on 06/09/2013 10:09:39 PM PDT by knak

Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former intelligence worker who leaked details of NSA data collection to journalists, first approached the Washington Post with his trove of information, The Post's Barton Gellman reported on Sunday. But when the paper wouldn't meet Snowden's conditions, he went to The Guardian's Glenn Greenwald, who first published the story about the NSA collecting Verizon customers' phone records. The Post did get the PRISM story in the end, and along with it Gellman's rather thrilling account of dealing with his mysterious source, a former NSA analyst and Booz Allen Hamilton employee who used the code name Verax. Even over the course of his three-week conversation with reporters, Snowden seems to have changed his views on how he wanted to carry out his leak.

Because libs have nothing but contempt for our brave American military heroes, and they show this contempt by defending the guy who endangered their lives as well as the lives of those who support them via the intelligence relayed.

Snowden is hated by the left because he shined some sunlight on their Orwellian assault on the USA.

Hopefully Snowden doesn't get murdered by the democrats. I would get close to God and start praying right now if I were him.

I am not sure who "my partner" referred to.

His partner refers to his Girlfriend, not a male.

Thanks for the explanation. I had not read it was his girl friend. Seemed a strange choice of words when I read it.

Good points, but I remain convinced that Obama used the NSA to pay closer attention to Tea Party folks and anyone else in DIRECT opposition to him and his communist agenda.

Yes, he probably has phone records on everyone, but one can imagine that he has his Praetorian Guards at the NSA zero in on people like Glenn Beck and Mark Levin.

I am also convinced that Obama used the NSA/DHS toads to spy on Justice Roberts, and they blackmailed him into subservience much like the way they blackmailed General Petraeus.

99 wins for Obama.

One for liberty.

Thankful that he told us.. now we know the people on TV and Obama are lying about actually using the content of the info they gather from innocent citizens.

Founding Fathers would call him a patriot as far as I am concerned at this time. Let the people decide if they want their info gathered which can be used against us. Blinded people who think this is all okay for the government to seize all power from us. Give the man a metal.

“I see little difference between people who break a solemn oath”

You mean like a solemn oath to support and defend the constitution? The 4th amendment says;

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

But the NSA wants to “rethink” it. SO who is the real traitor here? The bastards who want to undermine it? Or the hero who stabs them at least once as they do so?

For extra credit, explain to us if you think by “papers” the founders meant a cellulose product, or our writings and written correspondence.

The British use the term “partner” to refer to either girlfriend or wife. It come across as cold and impersonal to me...

Edward Snowden exposed Obama's Orwellian approach to the Tea Party and anyone else who values the US Constitution.

Agreed.

I am re-reading Matt bracken's trilogy. It's more timely today, at least for me, than when he came out with the first book ten years ago.

Isn’t NY Magazine under Gov. control...one of Obamas darlings?

We should suspect news coming out for Monday will have the Gov. damage control and media assassination if full force throughout the week...

Lol, remember back in old America? Nobody had a clue as to how to recognize government propaganda moves, like the way soviet citizens could? Many are acquiring the new skill these days!

I’m waiting for a spectacular report of the wheat harvest exceeding the goals of the current 5 year plan!

See Snowden with one eye open...there’s a lot going on right now and the Obama/media machine is going to be in full swing...they’ve had the week-end to create all sorts of character assassination....and get minds on a character rather than the issue at hand.

It’s very difficult keeping up let alone see thru to the next layers....and you can bet there are those. But then the more information flowing the more they can hide what they’re doing...and or escape from it.

SO who is the real traitor here?

I already knew, didn't you? I didn't need someone else to break the law to inform me. Do you really believe this will have any affect on Obamabots?

What don’t you get? The law on secrecy does not cover criminal behavior. The secret service is under no obligation whatsoever to help Obama hide it if he murders someone. Likewise, and NSA employee breaks no law by exposing illegal behavior by the NSA.

He broke no law, though the dictatorship will charge him with one. Sophie Scholl broke Nazi laws too. Laws designed to hide wrongdoing mean nothing compared to the supreme law of the land.
