Rand Paul: I'm Open to Voting for Immigration Bill
NewsMax ^ | 9 Jun 13 | Thomson/Reuters

Senator Rand Paul, a conservative Republican whose vote is being courted by supporters of a broad U.S. immigration bill, said on Sunday he is open to voting for the measure but wants changes, including tougher border security requirements. Paul, who has hinted at an interest in running for president in 2016, in March backed the concept of a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants that is at the heart of a comprehensive immigration bill under consideration in the U.S. Senate.

But Paul, of Kentucky, has also criticized some elements of the bill, saying it should provide a mechanism for assuring that the U.S. border with Mexico is secure. Paul also wants to see an expansion of visa programs that allow companies to hire workers from abroad.

Yep, I want to see anyone voting for Amnesty punished completely as possible. Rubio, Ryan and Paul need to be horse whipped!

Well I view their actions as been very negative. No doubt about it.

Did anyone ever bother to check with the American people to see if THEY want this goofyass, “immigration reform”? I can understand the leftwing politicians and big business wanting it, but what about those who are going to have to pay for it? Shouldn’t they have a say in this?

The Immigration system cannot stay as it is. So, at some point, we’re going to need a new Bill to fix things.

Rand wants a good, clean bill. If they can make changes to the current one, then fine. If not, then not.

Some of you idiots are making it sound like Rand is purposing an open amnesty. I think that’s BS. You are just itching to find something wrong with him so you can continue the generational Paul Derangement Syndrome.

This kid is dynamite on damn near every TEA Party backed position, but just as certainly he’s shaking up a lot of GOP-e/RINO insiders and making ‘em look stupid.

Y’all need to just chill the hell out.

What is wrong with these fugging people?

We need another 20 million people voting for Obama like we need another hole in our butts.

Amen.

If he is going to try to make it a good bill to address the real needs for immigration reform, then he deserves credit. If he signs on to this crap sandwich, he deserves what he’s getting. I am willing to wait and see on all these guys. Rubio is the one most teetering with our good will. Paul Ryan looks to be, too. Rand is, so far, focused on fixing the bad parts.

The Bolsheviks didn't like the way the peasants were behaving and so they decided to "elect a new people."

That is what our government is doing.

They have decided that Americans are too ornery and it is time to elect a new people.

“Then go stand over there with McCain and Graham.”

Are you saying that a vote for amnesty is the way we should go?

I have supported Rand Paul on all other issues, but will not on any form of Amnesty. We need to protect our borders and enforce all of our current laws.

Do not forget, they broke our laws in crossing over our borders to get free food, cell phones, and any other form of state support that they can get.

Should we reward them with legal status?

Rand is, so far, focused on fixing the bad parts.

If Rand Paul truly believed in the United States Constitution, he would adamantly oppose this evil bill.

The cold hard reality is that this bill CANNOT be fixed in any way. No 1000 page bill is good for the Republic.

Rand Paul will likely cast a vote for this bill and thereby help seal the fate of our Republic.

If this bill passes, America as Founded will be gone forever. We will become a third world sewer in 50 years.

He must have found that people in KY are staying up late at night writing their congressmen to demand “sensible immigration reform.” Or, more likely, he’s mostly just talk and mirrors.

This bill would be the end of America as we know it.

&&&
And that, sir, is exactly what they have in mind.

Too dang many freedom-loving citizens in the US. They must be reined in.

No amnesty, Randy!

The more things and people change the more they remain the same. Carrying water for the baby-killing Democrat Party wasn’t part of your job description.

Too optimistic. We will be there in 20 years or less.

I absolutely agree with that. No law should be even a 10th as long as the US Constitution.
