Exclusive: Inside Account of U.S. Eavesdropping on Americans [2008]
ABC News ^ | Oct. 9, 2008 | BRIAN ROSS

Posted on 06/11/2013 6:23:33 AM PDT by BarnacleCenturion

Faulk says he and others in his section of the NSA facility at Fort Gordon routinely shared salacious or tantalizing phone calls that had been intercepted, alerting office mates to certain time codes of "cuts" that were available on each operator's computer.

"Hey, check this out," Faulk says he would be told, "there's good phone sex or there's some pillow talk, pull up this call, it's really funny, go check it out. It would be some colonel making pillow talk and we would say, 'Wow, this was crazy'," Faulk told ABC News.

Faulk said he joined in to listen, and talk about it during breaks in Back Hall's "smoke pit," but ended up feeling badly about his actions.

So they are lying about not capturing content.

Like I'm surprised.

It’s a strange country we live in today.

The Government is sanctioning criminal acts and violations of the Constitution, while they want a lynch mob taken to the poor Bastid who told us what they are doing.

But no one is listening to our phone calls. Great Leader said so.

I didn’t go to the source, but this smacks of ‘15 minutes of fame’ BS.

I suspect that this is going to have a negative impact on the telecommunications industry. Smart people will limit their phone use to the essentials,

However, it may be a boon to restaurants and cafe’s, as people return to conducting their business in more private settings.

But be sure to agree on a meeting spot in person, not over the phone, or the spooks may bug the area if they think you’re a person of interest like, a Constitutionalist, or Christian, or devout Jew.

The report is from 2008, so it is very unlikely that the people interviewed were seeking “fame” from the current NSA disclosures.

“The accounts of the two former intercept operators, who have never met and did not know of the other’s allegations, provide the first inside look at the day to day operations of the huge and controversial US terrorist surveillance program.”

Hey Boehner, you got two more traitors here, you worthless sos.

Maybe so. But the fact still remains that they were snooping. How many times have they done it?

THEY ARE SPYING ON AMERICANS!

It is estimated that TENS of THOUSANDS of people
had access to this.

Democrats.
Democrats at IRS.
Moslem Brotherhood at the White House.

Democrats snooping on Congress.

From a bygone era when the American media thought government abuse of power to be newsworthy.

Some people can’t help themselves. As a retired IT DBA, there are all sorts of possibilities for sensitive data to be viewed by either Federal IT contractors and Federal IT employees. IMO, it all boils down to the moral substance of the individual. Either you have a moral compass or you are morally bankrupt.

What is your problem? Seriously? First the government says it is not capturing data on millions of Americans and then a leaker says they are. Then the government says they are just capturing metadata, not content and this leaker says they ARE capturing content.

When are you going to quit attacking the leakers and get serious about the fact that the government is lying while building the foundations for a modern high-tech police state?

Sheez.

Old school. Nothing on the phone. Mafiosi preferred meetings in the neighborhood ice cream parlor. Cappuccino, gelati, and a little private conversation.

Reminiscent of the ole party line telephone systems of the 50s and 60s.

Some of those party lines had 6-8 ‘members’. If one phone rang, they all did — but they had individual rings to signal which recipient should pick up. Of course, that didn’t prevent the party-line busybodies from picking up and listening in on the conversations.

The main difference, I suppose, is that all members of the party line group knew others might be listening in. Probably, those like General Petreaus only found out later.
