ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) A 72-year-old woman fired a gun at a would-be home invasion robber over the weekend in an unincorporated area of Anaheim.
Jan Cooper said she was home with her 86-year-old husband, a decorated World War II veteran, in the 10000 block of Gilbert Street around 12:30 a.m. Sunday when she heard an intruder at her front door.
The suspect, however, couldnt get through the locked door, so he attempted to enter through a sliding glass door at the back of the home. The grandmother, while on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, said thats when she warned the prowler that she had a gun.

Oh, boy! Grandmas with guns!
OMG! :o)
Granny git yer gun!
This woman is AWESOME..she was interviewed on our local stations and she was great..she talked about how having a gun saved her life and how the burglar is lucky he isn’t dead, he begged for his life telling her “Please don’t shoot me.” That burglar scum chose the wrong house to try to rob..meanwhile, I bet the gun grabbers wish they could take away this amazing woman’s gun
Got it!
Another example that any gun can break off an attack. Too bad she missed him.
Good. This is what liberals are trying to take away from honest, law-abiding non-violent people. They WANT the underclass to waltz in and take whatever they want. Redistribution of wealth.
Uh, oh. This “Bitter Clinger” lady is one of those citizens on the Obama and Homeland Security Watch list for sure now if she wasn’t already.
“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
Barack Obama, San Francisco, April 2008.
“I am a Christian woman and I’m very proud of it. I don’t curse, but after I shot, rage took hold, and I just blasted away. In fact, my husband afterwards, says, ‘I’ve never heard you talk like that,’” said Cooper.
Police arrested 31-year-old Brandon Alexander Perez. They say he has a long rap sheet. He’s currently on parole for burglary and was staying at a half-way house not far from Cooper’s home. Perez has pleaded not guilty.”
A short barrel .357 like that is a lot of kick for a grandma to hold and place a second shot accurately. For people like her, I’m a snake-shot-in-the-eyes followed by hollow-point-take-your-time kinda guy.
The article does not say what model S&W but a 3 in S&W loaded with .38s has very moderate recoil and is recommend for home defense for the novice.
True, but those don't look like .38s in the picture.
