In this vein>>>>>>

For Firefox and Chrome get the “track me not” add on. This extension sends out google search queries (bing too if you want) that are random. You own searches get lost (to trackers) in a cloud of chaff. In this forest they cannot find your trees

In addition to "track me not," check out Ghostery.

I have been amazed at the number of trackers some web sites use. FR uses just one, Google Analytics, to track visitors and where they come from.

I clicked on a Fox New page yesterday and Ghostery said it was blocking 17 trackers in that page. Wow.
