Snowden Threatens to Reveal More 'Explosive' NSA Secrets (About U.S. Hacking of Chinese Computers)
NewsMax ^ | 06/12/2013

Former U.S. spy Edward Snowden on Wednesday vowed to fight any bid to extradite him from Hong Kong and promised "explosive" new revelations about Washington's surveillance targets, The South China Morning Post reported.

Specifically, Snowden reportedly showed the newspaper "unverified documents" describing an extensive U.S. campaign to obtain information from computers in Hong Kong and mainland China.

"We hack network backbones, like huge Internet routers, basically, that give us access to the communications of hundreds of thousands of computers without having to hack every single one," he told the newspaper.

Officials have confirmed that Snowden may have more secret material.

"Apparently he's got a thumb drive," Sen. Saxby Chambliss, a Republican from Georgia, said Tuesday. "He's already exposed part of it and I guess he's going to expose the rest of it."

National Security Agency Director Gen. Keith Alexander told the Senate Intelligence Committee that "he doesn't know where Snowden is now," Chambliss said.

And the British paper The Guardian reported it believed Snowden had moved to a "safer" hotel in Hong Kong, the city to which he fled in preparation for the bombshell data dump.

"I'm neither traitor nor hero. I'm an American," Snowden said in the exclusive interview, released two days after he checked out of the city hotel and went to ground.

Supporters of the former NSA subcontractor are lauding him as a whistleblower for divulging NSA monitoring of private users' web traffic and phone records, in a worldwide trawl that the White House says was needed to keep Americans safe from terror.

SURPRISE!!!!

This has the stench of team Obama all over it. Snowden starts out enlisting support of Americans against their government, then quickly goes into 'sabotage America's intelligence gathering capabilities against foreign countries' mode.

This is an Obama false flag, intended to undermine America's intelligence gathering capabilities. Let's tell the world what and how we spy on them, making us weaker.. Making what SHOULD be classified, UNCLASSIFIED.

Just another Obama bait and switch.. DUPING AMERICANS into supporting the disbandment of our ability to counter foreign threats.

SUCKERS!

To be honest it matter little if Snowden is a traitor or not - the fact that Americans have lost a great deal of trust in the US government over the past week is a very healthy thing.

Besides, does anyone think there is anything this guy could do that would come close to being as damaging to national security as what the purple lipped prince is doing from the White House right now?

I agree. I wouldn’t go so far as saying he is a traitor, but this knee jerk reaction to call him a hero is troubling.

So the hero Snowden is planning to reveal the cyber secrets our criminal, mercantilist leaders use to hack the computers of other criminal, mercantilist leaders to accumulate more wealth for themselves.

There, fix it.

regardless of what I think of what the NSA is doing, in terms of them getting the meta data dump, maybe now we might see

a. why snowden went to Hong Kong

b. why the world meta-data dump should be searched to see if there is some big bank account somewhere with his name on it

why

China has been looking for a long time for something to take the world geopolitical heat off it as the world’s biggest cyber hacker.

I don’t know if, for pay, snowden became involved in that effort, but if correlation alone was proof (it is not) it could start to look that way.

I don't think it was Snowden who gave the Chinese the plans for most of our Military systems? Remember Clinton likely facilitated (for $$ donations) the turnover of our Nuclear Weapons system plans to the Chinese in the 90s. It was from Los Alamos.

I would like to know what documents Sandy "the evil traitor" Burger removed from the National Archives..

I have no doubt the evil leftists in this administration of facilitating the turnover of our most critical defense system designs to the enemy.

H*ll, for all we know Snowden could be acting at the behest of the Marxist President... distraction, subversion, who knows....

supposed conservatives line up behind the hero’s of Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky, etc. Just pathetic.

Careful with the accusatory rhetoric FRiend.

Do I need to remind you that you're lining up with those like Feinstein, Biden, and Obama?

Yes, some have taken sides already, I choose to see how this pans out for a little while longer.

Careful, the kick you throw out might end up in your own mouth.....give it some time.

To quote Randy Quaid’s character in Independence Day, “I’ve been sayin’ that for 10 damn years”.

Let me ask you this. Do you think those in charge of THIS country are your allies?

It’s increasingly looking like the average American doesn’t have ANY allies. Least of all in DC.

Just because you think the Chicoms are your enemy (and the elite chicoms likely are), don’t think the elites in THIS country aren’t ALSO your enemy.

They are.

Yep, I think many conservatives who have hailed him as a hero are going to be red faced. This may actually turn into a divisive subject for all conservatives.

Yes, DWTS is very distracting.

From what I was reading, he was in contact with the Guardian before his last job.

I would have agreed until the regime decided to put the tea party on the terrorist list. We, the people, are now the adversaries.

Spying on China and countering their hacking WITH OUR HACKING is our government’s job (national security). This is nothing more than Obama trying to GUT our intelligence capabilities. But first, he had to make you think Snowden was on your side. There are some people who will just run with their first notions and support a total block on America’s ability to spy on China, or Russia, or any other foreign country.

“This guy is acting based on ego and self-interest. “

So, putting the middle of your forehead squarely at the intersection of the crosshairs of the most powerful government entities on planet Earth is “self-interest”?

I’m not buying it.

As for ego...I really didn’t pick up any of that vibe watching the interviews; he seemed pretty dispassionate about it all. There was a distinct lack of self-championing going on.

Did you watch the interviews? If not, you need to; you’ll have a much better take on the guy’s attitude and motive.

>> I don’t know if, for pay, snowden became involved in that [China] effort

In the vein of conspiracy, it’s unpopular to prosecute a “national hero” for Snowden’s sake.

But for the moment, I’m dubious about the China connection.

We don’t have secrets hidden from China and haven’t had for years now. Our defense industries are full of Chinese nationals, much of our “secret” tech is made by China, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the computers at the Utah data center are primarily Chinese made. The only thing he has China might want is PR value.

Guess I’m just not one of those people who can forget those little things when its convenient.

I am expressing an opinion here but I don’t think that the current crop of Mexicans, Asians, and ME’s have any intention of assimilating and becoming Americans as did the pre WW II and immediately after WW II immigrants. At least I have not seen evidence of it, like learning our language and flying our flag on holidays etc...

The NSA domestic surveillance program was never secret. All Snowden has disclosed is the scope of the surveillance, and the fact that all Americans are under surveillance - even those not under suspicion.

How is that treason?
