Won't hire convicted criminals? Uncle Sam might have a problem with that
Memphis Business Journal ^

If you've got a policy against hiring anyone with a criminal record, you better review guidelines issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The EEOC today filed lawsuits against BMW's manufacturing plant in Spartanburg, S.C., and Dollar General, which is based in Goodlettsville, Tenn. The agency contends the companies' policies against hiring people who have been convicted of a crime violate the Civil Rights Act because they disproportionately cost African-Americans jobs.

Every employer should have at least one murderer, one rapist, a thief and a burglar. A couple armed robbers wouldn’t hurt either.

There are some areas of this country where the company I work for has trouble finding people who do not have a felony in their past, are able to read and write, and can pass a drug test.

Last time I checked, any felony conviction on your record - including a DWI - means you can forget getting even a SECRET clearance for US Government work.

I guess the Government discriminates against black people.

I’m completely sure that if you have a conviction for gay-bashing, well, ANY planned parenthood will hire you:

Right?

Maybe men with histories of domestic abuse can get hired as marriage counselors?

No doubt at all.

Just so they work for Diane Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Claire McCaskill, Rosa DeLauro, Shelia Jackson Lee, Barbara McCulski, Susan Collins, and some other liberals.

Just like forcing "affordable housing" need to be on Fifth Ave., Hyannisport, the Hamptons, Aspen, Marin County, West Chester, Pebble Beach, Carmel, Santa Barbara, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Mercer Island and other posh liberal enclaves.

In at least one major city they are requiring that lifeguards who can’t swim be hired, because there are so few black lifeguards, and so few blacks that can swim who have applied, etc.—so it’s racist to require lifeguards to be able to swim, you see, because it “disparately impacts” blacks, etc. Not kidding. I think it’s Minneapolis.

In other words, a union.

They could save themselves a lot of time/trouble interviewing and just hire one Dem ex Con, er... ex Congressman.

What about the “Disparate Impact” of DISPROPORTIONATE NUMBERS OF CRIMES COMMITTED BY BLACKS, where the white population is being victimized by a Minority? Can we prosecute THAT “Unequal Treatment”?

Fraud to such an extent that it led to thousands of banks being taken ino receivership by the FDIC; makes the S & L scandal pale in comparion. Anybody that could make a commission was in on the action from the title companies to the loan officers to the presidents of the bank. I know one transaction that netted one of the senior officers of a bank, $200K on a multimillion dollar deal. They knew the type people they were lending to would default which didn’t bother them one bit because they knew they could foreclose on it and the resell it and make the commissions all over again.

Democrats have no problem hiring convicted criminals; best example that comes to mind is Alcee Hastings, impeached convicted and removed from his judgeship for accepting bribes.
