Children who dont get a pre-kindergarten education, ideally from birth to age 5, might fall behind and may as well drop out by third grade, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said on Wednesday at an event to garner support for President Barack Obama's $75-billion proposal to increase pre-school enrollment across the country.

They couldn’t devise a more irrelevant and BS curriculum for kids if their lives depended on it... yet they are complaining about the achievement??
Really!?
F U K S
This bitch is pure evil.
So now the feds are spending billions of dollars on elaborately and expensively financed full day pre-schools and kindergarten Meanwhile, kids leave high school with no shop-type (employable) skills and the need for a mostly inadequate college education they can't afford.
Brilliant social planning, isn't it? (sarcasm)
What would my solution be for the underclass? Half-day pre schools that the parents could attend with their kids for the under-class. Otherwise, go back to daycare options for working parents of toddlers.
A very ‘powerful’ and creepy one at that.
What a horror show this has become.
Plus those special ed teachers mean big bucks for the unions.
They’ve actually showed that kids who go to Head Start show a slight improvement over non-Head Start kids when they enter regular grade school...but they lose it all within about a year. In other words, it’s the schools that are the problem, along with the degraded home environment provided by welfare baby mommas and their revolving boy-friend collections. Head Start improved them only because it took them out of that environment for most of the day and also kept them away from the older and already bad kids in regular school.
This is to push Obama’s birth to 5 government pre-school. Obama tried a similar legislation called zero to five as a senator.
I can’t remember what Obama exactly said but something like we can brainwash them easier if we get them away from their parents young.

My daughter home-schools. I don’t believe her second could read before age 7. She reads very well now at 10. Lisa’a first at age 12 scored above 90th percentile in the ACT, the American College Test taken by many high schoolers. I wonder how the Secretary would fix that.
Madness.
I didn’t receive any Pre-K education and I hold a Ph.D.
Checkmate.
Fixed it.
Here in San Antonio our liberal idiot Mayor Castro pushed HARD for a multi-million dollar pre-K agenda. The sheeple passed it. They are hiring a Director with a $175K salary.
Thats Right. We are going to pay a six figure salary to a freaking DAY CARE DIRECTOR!!!!
My Dad had me potty trained by the time I was 3 months old. It took a lot of beatings, though. ;^)
I’m comin’, chile. I be’s there soon. I saves ya’.

Sounds good, but is this policy backed by evidence that government involvement in child rearing from birth actually works?
The answer is No! In a 2005 Stanford University/University of California study that focused on children attending preschool, it was confirmed that attendance in preschool centers, even for short periods of time each week, hindered the rate at which young children developed social skills.
Just like my post 14 from “Animal Farm”.
We don’t flippin’ want her back!
You could do a post-partum abortion and harvest their organs for the people you deem worthy of life, Ms. Sebelius.
Why not?
