'ONE NATION UNDER ALLAH': COLORADO HIGH SCHOOL CLUB RECITES PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE IN ARABIC

A "multicultural student group" at Rocky Mountain High School recited the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic on Monday, replacing "one nation under God" with "one nation under Allah."

School principal Tom Lopez supported the decision to have the pledge recited in this manner, and even after an outraged public contacted the school to complain Lopez stood his ground.

Lopez claims the kids weren't trying to be "un-American," but to "[accentuate] the meaning of the words as regularly spoken in English."

but to "[accentuate] the meaning of the words as regularly spoken in English."

In other words they are trying to brainwash the kids into thinking Allah and God are the same thing

“Lopez claims the kids weren’t trying to be “un-American,” but to “[accentuate] the meaning of the words as regularly spoken in English.”

Oh I guess that makes it OK then. Substituting Allah for God. Yeh that makes sense. I’m just wondering if next week Lopez is planning to have them recite the pledge in Jewish, or French, or Italian, or Portugese, or Russian. No?

RE: How do Arabic speaking Christians say ‘God’?

From Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allah

Allah is the Arabic word for God (literally ‘the God’, as the initial “Al-” is the definite article).

It is used mainly by Muslims to refer to God in Islam, Arab Christians, and often, albeit not exclusively, by Bahá’ís, Arabic-speakers, Indonesian, Malaysian and Maltese Christians, and Mizrahi Jews.

This misleads the students to be blinded to the enemy The teachers should leave our American anthem and pledge of allegiance alone. They are as short simple straightforward and easily understandable as is possible. They don’t become any clearer for American children when recited in foreign languages. (Did American schools recite the pledge inGerman or Japanese during WW2?)

How about one nation under Yahweh? I wonder if they’ll allow that.

I believe the language of the US is ENGLISH.

There is the old story of Congress not making GERMAN the official language by one vote.

I believe it was that the German speakers in the US wanted the Congressional Record printed in German so they could read it, but it was voted down.

Next week can they say it in Hebrew? How about Tagalog, Spanish, french or one of the Native American languages?

This public school teacher would be asking that question at the next board meeting.

Actually, we ARE now muslim territory. Muslim president. Muslim national political advisors. Muslim accomodations in our public schools. Muslim exemption from Obamacare. We are muslim territory. Nothing we can do about it now.

“Lopez claims the kids weren’t trying to be “un-American,” but to “[accentuate] the meaning of the words as regularly spoken in English.”

Then play them Red Skelton's line by line reading and analysis. They may not know who he was but his message is clear and the words are in English which is a language many of the students in the class should recognize and understand.

http://www.redskelton.com/PLEDGE.htm

On January 14, 1969, I presented "The Little Old Man" as a teacher. The time was 1923.The students had finished reciting the Pledge of Allegiance which at the time was but 10 years old. The old sage called the children together and said--

"Boys and girls, I have been listening to you recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester and it appears that it has become monotonous to you or could it be you do not know the meaning of those words. If I may, I would like to recite the Pledge and give to you a definition of the words.

I----meaning me, an individual, a committee of one.
Pledge----dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity.
Allegiance----my love and my devotion.
To the Flag----our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves, there is respect because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job.
Of the United----that means that we have all come together.
States----individual communities that have united into 48 great states. 48 individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose, all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common cause, and that's love of country.
Of America.
And to the Republic
----a republic, a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
For which it stands!
One nation----meaning, so blessed by God.
Indivisible----incapable of being divided.
With Liberty----which is freedom and the right of power to live one's life without threats or fear or any sort of retaliation.
And justice----The principle and quality of dealing fairly with others.
For all.----which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine."

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our nation, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance "under God." Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said, "That's a prayer" and that would be eliminated from schools, too?

Wonder if they would have done something similar after Pearl Harbor - used Japanese cultural phrases and stuff in schools?

Juro fidelidad a la bandera
de Los Estados Unidos de America,
y a la republica que representa,
una nacion,
baja Dios,
con libertad y justicia para todos.

I was in a bilingual program in elementary school. We said the Pledge in Spanish every day. Not sure what impression it had on the Spanish speaking kids who were supposed to be learning English, but I guess it was better than not saying the Pledge at all.
