A wreath? as in a funeral wreath? Yes, that might be so. The photo looks like a police shot.

No mention of Sumter, SC.

I am truly surprised.

He could claim self-defense — some might say he won’t have a leg to stand on, but I disagree.

My grandfather had a wooden leg. If some guy had done that to him, I would have skinned him alive.

One 4th of July night we were walking near a park in Webb City, Missouri. Kids were playing with fireworks all over the park. Everyone was having a good time.

One group of kids were being rather careless and tossing fireworks to close to us.

My grandfather couldn’t move real fast, because he had to balance and it would have been difficult for him.

One firecracker came closer than I thought was right, and I laid into those kids. I must have put the fear of God into them, because nothing came anywhere near us again.

I must have been about eight at the time. Even at that age I had this Captain Bligh complex going on. :^)

The park with the kneeling miner statue? My wife is from Webb City.
I’ve spent some time shooting out at the chat piles. Lead, zinc tailings.

Yeah, I know about the chat piles. To be honest I haven’t been to the park in close 50 years.
