Will Boehner Lose His Speakership Over Immigration Reform? ‘Maybe,’ He Says

John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he might lose his job as House speaker over immigration reform, but he insisted he will not bring a bill to the House floor that does not have majority support of both Republicans and Democrats.

Following the Republican conference meeting on Tuesday, Boehner was asked: “Rep. Rohrabacher said that if you bring immigration reform to the floor without the support of the GOP conference you will lose your job (as speaker). Do you think that’s accurate?”

“Maybe,” Boehner said after a long pause, to laughter from reporters. …

"I would do anything and everything to kill amnesty."

Even his loose lips about this (bleep) will certainly sink the Repellican/conservative ship!!!

You have integrity....Boehner has NONE

Not a problem. I knew what you meant. You just didn’t know I knew. Oh never mind, I don’t want to complicate this as it would spoil all the fun...

Who could be worse?

I use a tool named ‘komposer’. It’s free. It reminds me of the old Netscape 7.1 creation and edit tool. Netscape finally died, and I morphed to Firefox (which doesn’t have an editing tool) and Komposer (which is a stand along Netscape like composing tool).

I try to use differentiation in colors to allow folks to understand what is up easier. I get criticized for it, but I think it’s the most clear understandable way to do this. Once you know what’s going on, it’s easy to know exactly what I am referring to, and I don’t fail as easily to respond to each thought.

I agree that the NSA isn’t content to stop a phone calls, and is also going with internet and business data as well.

She's been one of my heroins as well, but she's quiting, like De Mint in the Senate. And she probably isn't even going to get the huge $1,000,000 salary that ol Jim's gonna be gittin!!!

We can't afford these righteous conservatives to be quittin before we see victory!!!

She’s still got a year and some months right? She just needs to be there long enough to clean out the RINO leadership and committee chairs.

IIRC, the speaker doesn’t have to be a member of the house.

Therefore, I’d Pick Newt and then stand back, watch and count the number of libtard aneurysms.

That’s an important point. Sadly, we support Representatives only serving for a limited time then standing down. She’s fulfilling that mandate, and probably getting back to family.

There certainly isn’t any consolation when things exist as they do today.

...and not that ‘back to family’ comment wasn’t a knock.

In some instances it’s a truthful non-loaded statement.

RE :”Sickoflibs has been reminding us about #2. None of the “conservatives” in the House seem to want Boehner’s job, as SOL puts it “Obama’s b****.” And to be honest, for example, what would I do as Speaker if the only choices are .....”

Since 2011 MSNBC libs have been repeating the rumor (their invention) that Eric Cantor wants Bohners job and is a hero of conservatives, that he is their choice. So as this theme goes Bohner is worried that Cantor will take his job.
(I heard this a few times on MSNBC and recently a lib coworker repeated this same theory to me.)

I wouldnt hold my breath.

Bohner has two choices :
1) go along with the spending and be labeled as part of the problem, as well as disliked by many in his party,.
2) shutdown the government and be nearly universally despised, and in the end give in like Newt did.

So no-one wants that job. That is why a weak fool like Bohner has it.

Late last year for the last week of December I kept challenging Freepers to call their favorite House GOP hero and ask he to run as Speaker, I knew no-one would.

“The minute you get out of either the greater LA area or the greater SanFrancisco Bay Area in CA you wouldn’t believe how conservative the rest of CA is!!! It’s amazing!!!”

Yeah but these “Let’s cut California Loose” jerks don’t have the intellect to understand the demographics here. For that matter it holds the same in the so-called “blue states,” it’s just that their $h!t Hole “cities” haven’t yet become an overriding factor in their elections, but sooner or later they will. The only reason that Utah is dark blue is that they only have one big city. In Utah the only sheriff that didn’t sign on with the other 27 to uphold the 2A was the a$$hole from Salt Lake County.
