This week, anti-life members of The View cast demonstrated their bias once again in a discussion about the proper nomenclature that should be applied to individuals with mental and chromosomal abnormalities.
Had the target been anyone other than the vehemently-hated conservative Sarah Palin and her beautiful son who was born with Down Syndrome, The View‘s Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg would undoubtedly not have defended the vulgar Bill Maher, who called Trig Palin “retarded.”
In a despicable demonstration of the all-too-common liberal tendency to defend their own at all costs, Walters and Goldberg “reasoned” that because “retarded” used to be an acceptable term to describe persons with chromosomal or other disabilities, Bill Maher was justified in his hate speech.

The discussion left viewers dumbfounded at the irony that the same cast who will defend Maher’s senseless hate speech tears into anyone who dares to express opposing viewpoints (such as the pro-life views discussed on the show here and here).

Calling “Whoopi Goldberg” retarded would be offensive to all the low-IQ people who are naturally that way and can’t help it.

The nature of Mr. Maher’s comment has been suppressed. It is evident that it was intended as a dig at Sarah Palin (even Barbara Walters acknowledges this, and uses it to justify the attempt at “humor”).
So my guess is it was a remark such as “Of course Sarah thinks she’s smart, she spends all day raising a retard.” or “you can see with her retarded son that the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree”. Neither would justify the use.
I await Mr. Maher to clarify what he said and defend it. He is a frequent guest commentator on CNN (and has a program on Time-Warner’s sister HBO network). CNN has advertisers. Time-Warner is a big company. There is plenty to boycott as far as Mr. Maher is concerned (he’s previously boasted he has no sponsors, which is false when he appears on CNN).
The left does not even try to hide its venom now. Sooner or later that snake is going to bite itself to death, I feel.
