KIRSTEN POWERS: I don't support even the concept of a trigger. We're so apart on that. The trigger is set up to keep people from coming into this country essentially because there will never be a point where the border will be certified as being safe as Republicans want to be because there are so many Republicans who don't want these people coming into the country. So, I just think it sets up an impossible barrier to entry for immigrants. ME: Well obviously it does if said immigrant is trying to sneak over here. I.E. Illegally.

Arguing about a border fence is pointless.. it’s never, ever going to happen. If this current legislation becomes law, at the first available opportunity, the dems will hold up funding for all these wonderful new promised security enhancements in exchange for “revenue enhancements.”
It didn’t happen in 1986, nor in 2002, or in 2006.. and it won’t happen now.
For Kirsten, the border and immigration laws are a nuisance. She is a bona fide Democrat-Socialist. To be honest, the border would be less of an issue if we shut off the welfare-state magnet and other rewards that attract the hoards of Mexican invaders.

It seems that people who emote, rather than think, can’t distinguish between fencing invaders out, and fencing citizens in. Powers didn’t specifically reference the Berlin Wall; but, many of her ilk have tried to make that exact comparison.
The ability to control who enters your country is the essence of sovereignty. Every country does this, in one way or another. OTOH, keeping citizens from leaving (as the Berlin Wall did), is a violation of international human rights laws.
