We get those water spouts occasionally, here on the Outer Banks of NC; but never that size!

It’s a good thing they rarely do any serious damage.

That one with the skier showed the most of the actual waterspout. The large sheath seems to be water vapor sucked up and flowing around the spout.

I haven’t seem many water spouts, but that was impressive.

I wonder if it-or any waterspout- dropped a load of seafood on land? Crabs shrimp and fish all over would be good.

We used chase them and t-storms with the ship to get some fresh water showers. Good old days before women on Navy ships.

While this waterspout is huge, they are not uncommon. Grand Isle is my old fishing waters. We used to see waterspouts and tornadoes all of the time and outrun them.

We almost had a gustnado out here in West Texas the past few weeks. Amazing down drafts on some of the super cell fronts.
