It sure takes the intended punch out of an opening statement when the judge sustains objection after objection. Has West ever given opening statements in his career? He’s not doing GZ any favors.
We have to wonder. Although this judge definitely seems hostile to the defense. So much of this stuff is subject to her discretion.
Her demeanor in addressing the question of fairness with respect to GZ’s parents being in the courtroom told me all I need to know about her sympathies.

It is Politically Incorrect to hope for a fair trial — for starters, it should never have got to trial.
