LIVE Open thread: Senate to vote on Gang of Eight bill at 5:30 ET
Hot Air ^ | June 24, 2013 | Allahpundit

Posted on 06/24/2013 2:20:14 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

To be more specific, they’re voting on the bill plus the Corker/Hoeven amendment. My prediction: 72 yes votes, despite the phony border-security “triggers” and despite the fact that the bill now reeks of “Cornhusker Kickback”-style buyoffs to bring fencesitting Republicans on board. No matter. Schumer’s goal was 70 and I expect he’ll get it, which will help him with his exciting new “there’ll be mass demonstrations if the House doesn’t pass this thing” talking point.

Did you know that amnesty for illegals is a “civil rights” issue? You do now:

“This has the potential of becoming the next major civil rights movement. I could envision in the late summer or early fall if Boehner tries to bottle the bill up or put something in without a path to citizenship — if there’s no path to citizenship, there’s not a bill — but if he tries to bottle it up or do things like that, I could see a million people on the Mall in Washington,” Schumer said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Schumer said business leaders, evangelical leaders and CEOs of high tech companies would join the public call for action by the House on immigration.

He’s kidding himself if he thinks that summer will bring pressure on the House to pass, rather than kill, the bill, but never mind that......

From past experience, I can tell you there’s no reasoning with angry mothers on the march. Intellectual discussion is not in session.

It may be over where you live, silent, but there are tens of millions in fly over land who beg to differ. But, as with our founders, they will try every means possible until one day...it just breaks open.

So, it is coming, and when it does, a choice is going to have to be made.

I believe it will be sooner rather than later. An abject time for choosing when each person is going to have to decide for themselves in this nation which side they are on. Either the side of liberty, independence, God-given fundamental moral principle, personal responsibility, and our Constitutional Republic on one hand...or compulsion, a denial of God in Heaven’s fundamental moral principle, a nanny-state with absolute power over your life, and a cult of personality and death on the other.

I know my choice. I know where I shall stand. I will not run. I will not hide. I will not bow down to, or crawl or beg at the feet of those who consider themselves my better and my master. I have but one Master, and that is my Savior, Jesus Christ and the commandments and life style He has appointed, and I choose it freely, for He is mighty to save, and His load is light and brings comfort and rest to the soul. As my forefathers told the King of England in their day, “No King but King Jesus!”

So, don’t give in. don’t give up.

If you do...then get the hell out of the way.

Otherwise, stand for our Constitution and way of life! Stand for fundamental moral principle! Prepare for what is coming. Enemies of all we hold dear are forcing it upon us. I believe that they believe they have the power and the opportunity to pull the trigger on this nation and its constitution which they loathe. They have no idea of what they are dealing with...but they think they do, and they are going to ruthlessly try and enforce their vision of governance, which has nothing to do with unalienable rights or the U.S. Constitution, on this land and its people.

In fact, they are already doing so.

So, prepare...decide. It will not be easy. Many of us will fall. But the truth, and what is right shall not fall. Let future generations say of us, as we say of our forefathers, and of that generation that defeated two world powers bent on this same type of tyranny they wanted to foist on the whole world, that in out time, we stood for the right and for our God-given rights...and we persevered, no matter the cost, to purchase true liberty for those who followed!

Some of the NO votes would have been YES if it weren’t for the grassroots getting riled up.

Yes, and we should honor the heroes like Cruz and Sessions. But too many GOP traitors don't care what we think.

Now we need to make the House GOP understand that we mean business.

The American people asked for every drop of this in their voting behavior. They are the “compassionate” culprits.

It’s 2014, and people in SC still don’t know his record. The fault is with both our nominees and the general election winners.

That’s right people like Cornyn voted “No” but they would have voted “Yes” if their votes were truly needed. Evertt McKinley Dirksen played that game with LBJ too.

No, in the end, it will not be, because it will all be reclaimed.

But there are areas, right now, where for those people buying into the social-utopia lie en masse, where the America we cherish and as defined by our Constitution has, for all intents and purposes, ceased to exist on a day to day for the time being.

Such areas, sadly, are almost akin to enemy occupied territory right now.

It's a sad thing, and I am glad my World War II combat veteran father passed before it got this bad with Obama (A. L. Head, Jr. Lt. US NAVY, PTO, 1925-2004). But he saw it coming, even in his later years, recognized it for what it was, and did all he could do to stand and speak out and fight against it.

I can do no less.

My decorated WW2 Navy dad also didn’t live to see this treasonous POTUS, or the Republican quislings who aided him.
I thank God for that.

“...He needs to attack Schumer for the Marxist that Schumer is..”

What makes you think that that will ever happen?

With ALL the evidence and examples that exist from over the years of dealing with Schmuckie, proving him to be exactly what you say he is, if it was ever going to happen, it would have happened already.

Have you ever once, in your lifetime, heard one of these cretins stand up and call another “colleague” to the carpet? I haven’t.

It’s a game to these people. The outcome of the game doesn’t affect them the way it affects you, me, all of us.

He’s got armed protection round the clock, so he really doesn’t care about the little guy being able to protect the family and himself when away from home. Toomey, et al, isn’t the exhausted working stiff coming from second shift with overtime - IF he can get it - who winds up face down in a dark parking lot, bleeding and dying from stab or gunshot wounds to the back because some crackhead freak wanted the 40 bucks and credit cards in his wallet. So pro-gun, anti-gun, etc., it means nothing to him and those like him other than as an election ploy to sway a certain voting block.

He’s got a taxpayer funded pension for life; so economic issues - up, down, good, bad, indifferent - don’t have any bearing on him either, except only in the sense of election time. He doesn’t have to worry about the electricity, or the water or the gas being turned off because the mortgage had to go out and food shopping needed to be taken care of, the kids’ medical bills are piling up, and the life insurance premium is due (which you MUST keep up with so that if you die, your family will at least be able to pay off the bills for a little while). He just doesn’t care.

None of them do, at the end of the day. They’re immune to the convulsions, disasters, upheavals, and turmoil that THEIR OWN ACTIONS AND LOUSY POLICY DECISIONS AND LAWS cause to the rest of us.

In a business, guys who make lousy business decisions cause people to get laid off, companies to lose money and business, and ultimately get shut down. In government, it’s “just the way it goes” and we’ll pass MORE laws to make the damage even worse and even more stupid. And still they have jobs.

Liberals, Conservatives, all of us - we’re ALL f***ed one way or another on ALL of the issues that are real and dear to us, and these people in DC just go on playing the game and benefiting from it, while we tussle and brawl and kill each other in the muck that they intentionally create over race, class, economics, whatever.

And they laugh at us and our efforts to rein them in when we actually DO wake up for a few minutes.

So Toomey, publicly going after Chuckie?? Probably won’t happen. Please let me know when it happens, because I would dearly love to be proved wrong about this.

They both have Lifetime Passes to the same country club, we’re paying the bill for them, and they’re having Martinis and cigars together, slapping each other on the back at our expense.

I don’t know Toomey personally. Maybe he’s a GREAT family guy, takes the kids to Church on Sunday, loves baseball, hots dogs, and apple pie. Maybe he really DOES give a rat’s ass about his constituents. But it sure doesn’t seem it from the Manchin-Schumer team up. That was the single WORST thing he could have done to Pennsylvanians that believed in him and elected him, and the rest of the country that counted on him to be a staunch gun rights supporter.

SO yeah, I won’t trust him either. If we get a chance to primary him, I will be there. He was a sad disappointment, but I can’t say it surprised me anymore...NOTHING these people do surprises me.

I want someone who will stand up and FIGHT - scream bloody murder, carry on and raise hell - in public, on the Senate or House floor, for MY rights - my rights as a Citizen, as an American. Not as a liberal or a conservative, but as an American with rights that are enumerated in the Constitution - that document that they SWORE to uphold, protect and defend.

I want someone who raise a ruckus and then actually put forth bills that walk the walk AFTER the talk, and fight like hell to push them through.

At the end of the day, he’s either an American ... or a Politician.

He needs to decide what he wants to be, or what he already is, and then have the integrity to BE it. One way or the other.

...our Constitution has, for all intents and purposes, ceased to exist on a day to day for the time being.

We need to not give up, and certainly not give in.

Wherever a Patriotic USA loving citizen is, that area is NOT "enemy occupied territory."

Using the guidelines you expressed California, certainly San Francisco, would be "occupied"

I've spent much time in the belly of the beast, and when 5,000 Palestinian/Islamic/Muslim types came against about 7-10 of us, we did not cede the territory to them.

When they rushed us on the steps of the City Hall in SF, the police ushered us inside to protect us from assault.

I slipped aside and mingled with the anti-American usurpers and took pictures and documented their actions.

We should not cede one INCH of American soil to anyone just because "for all intents and purposes" some believe that the Constitution "ceased to exist."

Not on my watch.

I have never ceded anything Syncro. My own bona fides speak for themselves.

Yet the fact remains that there are areas of the country, particularly in the large metropolitian areas, where our enemies have had overwhelming effect.

That does not mean they are "given up," any more than it means that we should "give up." I have never suggested anything of the sort. But I have, and will contiue to, point out the hard realities of the situation we face.

In the end, we will all have to stand on our feet and fight for our liberty. That tree has not been fed or nourished on this soil in that manner for a long time, in terms of a nation-wide effort to reclaim and hold our birthright.

But, it is apparent, that without a miraculous turn around (and I hold some hope for that to this day, for with God, all things ar epossible), I believe we are going to see that storm descend upon us sooner rather than later.

We need to be prepared for it. Physically, fiscally, menatally, emotionally...and particularly spiritually. For without God's Hand, we shall fail. Without Him and the underlying principles which our founders clearly enumerated to us as originating from Him, even if we defeat those enemies arrayed against us, we will fail to restore true liberty and will find ourselves unable to maintain it.

So...it will come, and we must be prepared. The best way to prepare I have found is to be constantly and eternally vigilant and standing up wherever we are and fighting it now as best we can. I have endeavored to do so.
