The goal is to restrict the supply of energy so the government can justify rationing and redistribution. Free electric power and fuel oil for the “poor”. Restrictions on power consumption and motor fuel purchases (except plug in electric) for the rest of us.
The more expensive they can artificially make energy, the sooner all the peasants will starve, leaving them the Walden paradise they deserve.
The whole point is to make energy unaffordable for the “commoner”,
and then the “elite” can subsidize whomever is in their favor such that only their supporters get to use energy.
