Hey Eugene. I thought we were all Americans, regardless of ethnicity.

You are one white-hating POS.

I agree. Tennessee law as it exists allows cities to annex neighborhoods with no say so from the residents. We are in the process of remedying that.

But why is it awful? Do you think that all states that once engaged in discrimination should be permanently punished?

When I was growing up in Orangeburg, S.C., the white power structure found a clever way to keep African Americans from having a say in municipal affairs: They engineered the city’s boundaries, annexing white subdivisions but not black ones, so that whites would retain a majority — and blacks would remain, essentially, unrepresented.

How convenient Eugene....engineered boundaries, huh? Wow...only them sneaky white peeples and Republicans are evil enuff to do dat.... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/603552/posts To my mind, Princess Cynthia McKinney's first district was a masterpiece of 'boundary engineering'. Parts of it only went down the center of a highway to keep from getting any of those pesky whites mixed in there with dem voters..... Go lie somewhere else Gene.

I guess it never occurred to him that cities are more likely to annex suburbs which are likely to produce more in tax revenue than they will use in public services, not the other way around.

Eugene don't know nuthin' bout no taxes, man!

He knows full well that it is Gerrymandering. He just didn’t want to cast his BS column under the tinge of dirty a$$ politics.....he and his brethren are about racism on this SC ruling thing, not politics - because they know they’d lose the Gerrymandering pissing contest in a heartbeat.

I was making fun of the author.

He starts by saying “When I was a kid, there was discrimination.”

Things have changed - a lot. And that’s the point.

I don’t know who wrote this, but if he’s like most journalists he’s somewhere in his 60’s or 70’s.

What this disingenuous Leftist is neglecting to say is that in ye bad olden days of the deep South, the power structure was Democrat, the Negroes, Republicans. The Democrats were the ones who went all-out to suppress the black vote.

Hey Leftie. Segregation, ya ever heard tell of it? Segregation was run lock stock and barrel by the Southern Democrats with the eager support of such outstanding Northern Democrat faux civil rights heroes as JFK, et al.

Today, sadly, the Negroes of the deep South are kept in their place by dependence upon government largesse, the poor Negro run school systems, and by the successful sale to them by the Democrat Party of the concept of helpless victimology. It works just fine for the Democrats. They own the Negroes just as surely as any ante-bellum Mississippi planter.

“They own the Negroes just as surely as any ante-bellum Mississippi planter.”

....only now they don’t produce anything but illegitimate children and gang members.

More hand-wringing from the race-grievance purveyors.

They produce a threat.

They are using these people as a general threat to the rest of the country - “do it our way or we’ll turn them loose on you”.

What happens to cities when black DEMOCRATS gain majorities?

Do those cities thrive?

Are there any examples of this success?

You would think if this was a “good thing”, there’d be plenty of examples being touted by the left.

The 1965 Immigration Act changed the demographics of this country forever. 87% of the 1.2 million legal immigrants who enter annually are minorities as classified by the USG. In 1970 one in 21 was foreign-born; today it is one in 8, the highest it has been in 90 years and within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history.

By 2019, half of the children 18 and under will be minorities and by 2042, half of the country will be minorities. And if we have an amnesty and the massive increase in legal immigration under the McRubio-Schumer bill, the demographics will change at an even faster rate.

Exactly. Since Eugenius isn’t that bright, he thinks that the Justices and other politicians are trying to suppress America’s changing demographic. In reality, it’s the exact opposite. Federal politicians starting in the 60s have actively engaged in changing America’s demographics without ever consulting the people.

It's called Gerrymandering.

And "Immigration Reform" is essentially gerrymandering on an international scale, defining all of Mexico as a series of Democrat precincts.

Today it ain’t just the Deep South; it’s any of the democrat-controlled big-city urban plantations ... Camden, Detroit, Chicago, Philly, and so on.
