Al Gore calls Obama climate change speech the best by any president ever By Jonathan Easley - 06/25/13 04:27 PM ET
Former Vice President Al Gore praised President Obamas energy policy speech at Georgetown University on Tuesday as the best address on climate by any president ever.
Writing on his blog, Gore, who won a Nobel Peace Price for his climate change activism, called Obamas speech historic.
I applaud the new measures announced by President Barack Obama this afternoon to help solve the climate crisis particularly the decision to limit global warming pollution from existing as well as new power plants, Gore wrote. Following the important pledges he made in both his inaugural address and State of the Union speech earlier this year, and the historic gains in renewable energy and fuel efficiency that the President delivered in his first term, the policy changes he announced today represent important steps forward in the battle to halt catastrophic climate disruption.
In his speech, Obama said the White House would direct the Environmental Protection Agency to draft new rules to limit the carbon pollution from both new and existing power plants that should be in effect by 2015. The president also said the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline should only be approved if it didnt increase greenhouse gas pollution.
Gore called Obamas EPA directive the most important part of the White House plan.
This action if followed by skillful and thorough execution of the plan has the potential to fundamentally alter the course of our nations energy infrastructure development and help to promote a sustainable future, he wrote. On the international front, this action will bolster U.S. credibility and moral authority in negotiations with other countries.
Gore ripped Congress for its inaction and denial on climate change, and urged the president to make this challenge a centerpiece of his leadership during his remaining three and a half years in office.
The hard truth is that the maximum that now seems politically feasible still falls short of the minimum necessary to actually solve the climate crisis, he said. Continued and constant use of the bully pulpit, determined follow-through on the steps announced today, and additional steps in the months ahead can change the political reality and build a bipartisan consensus for the broader changes that are needed urgently.
...sez Al-Jazerra Gore!
As far as I am concerned his selling of his TV network allows Al-Jaezera a toe hold in our country to allow the spread of filth of Mohammed. That $100M is blood money in my book Mr. Stone.
Al-Jazerra Gore has helped the terrorists to become even more powerful.
Al Gore is one of the most unethical people on the planet.
He’s worth $300 million now. Insider trading pays. Start a green company, get the government to invest millions of taxpayer money -stock goes up - sell off - company fails. Rinse repeat and you too can make over a quarter billion in a few years! And while unemployed!
He should be in jail, long ago just on his stock trades alone (He’s worth $300 mill now). But thanks to the commie fascist propaganda machine posing as our media and the RINO party that use to be called the Republican party, he walks.
I second the vomit alert. Did you see The Won’s speech? Wiping his brow standing in the sun on a 93-degree day in DC. Gorbal warming I guess was supposed to be the subliminal message. “The War on Coal” is obama’s “squirrel of the week” to avoid the real issues. He’s a lightweight—a real fool, and an evil one at that.
TC
I bet we could even get away with calling it science again!
Talk about a tingle up your leg!
Maybe Chris Matthew will go out with me!
I think I'll get in my coal-powered jet chair and fly over to Obama’s place and tell him how great he is!”
Al Gore's diary entry June 25, 2013
Please refresh my memory. Who the hell is Al Gore?
Why do we need to solve something that's not real?
This action if followed by skillful and thorough execution of the plan has the potential to fundamentally alter the course of our nations energy infrastructure development “
It could once again turn me into the world's first trillionaire!
And incidentally turn the USA into a sub-third world nation...oh well.
The hard truth is that the maximum that now seems politically feasible still falls short of the minimum necessary to actually solve the climate crisis
See that, even though I think that it's ‘millions of degrees’ beneath the surface of the Earth, I know how to use words with lots of syllables!
Best speech ever = “all sizzle,no steak”.
A Leftist once asked me in a snide sarcastic way if I thought that Gore should get the death penalty for promoting the Global Warming scam.
I said YES and indicated that I am saying this with a straight face.
The damage that would be done and the extreme human misery and many deaths that would be caused by following the Cap N’ Trade Tax regulations would have very serious consequences. Far greater than any of their fake scenario's.
Ain’t it great how the NSA scandal wiped all other scandals off the table so Obama can now move along to destroying energy as the Senate moves along his radical immigration goals?
Ah, screw it... let’s talk more about the hero Snowden. /s
If Al Gore endorsed air I would do my best to stop breathing.
Yeah, but did he have a tingley gay erection for Obama ,is what everyone really wants to know. Was it THAT good? That is really the ONE and ONLY thing Americans really need to care about.
Algore is a douchenozzle.
Gore is clearly a delusional idiot off his meds. Better renew that Prozac scrip, Al.
Gore needs to choke on a hot dog.
