“Hearsay rules” which include exceptions and exceptions to exceptions are about as confusing as our spelling “rules”. And lax, indifferent, or incompetent “enforcement” by the judge doesn’t help.

Just today, West asked the Sanford Neighborhood Watch person something like, “...and did she tell you that these burglaries frightened her?” Objection! Hearsay! Ok.
