Until the last five years...malls used to beg for teenagers to come in. I suspect that events have triggered some mall management folks to consider how they will handle the teen problem in the future. If you arrest them...they will come back with a negative view of the mall, and not spend money there. If you ignore the problem, it will only grow bigger.

For a long time teens were big spenders; now they have no money (parents are broke, and illegals took the jobs American teens used to do). Now I would assume that teens in a mall are up to no good...

Malls are on the way out. In fact, I would say they are dead. Around here and in many places, they are going back to the original strip mall concept. There are no common indoor gathering areas. Each store has its own entrance.
There were a lot of strip malls built in the 50s. Someone got the idea in the 60s-70s of putting a second strip of stores with the entrances facing each other. Then they put a roof over it. It became a mall. Later, they built malls from scratch.
There were several of the 50s strip malls converted into covered malls around here. They ripped out the common areas and went back to the individual store concept. One near me tore down everything but two large anchor stores and started from scratch.
Recent upscale shopping areas are being built from scratch with no common area. Some are laying them out in small city blocks with living areas above the shops. Just like the 50s!
You would think bad weather would be a problem but it doesn’t seem to matter that much. Store owners rent is lower since they don’t have to pay the overhead needed to build, heat, cool, clean, the large open area. The small stores were dying anyway from internet competition.
So now if the Sons and Daughters of Barack and Holder want to riot, they don’t have a huge open indoor area to run around in.
No self respect, no self control. It was like watching wild animals. Thank God we are heading back home today! I've had enough of Miami already.

Saw one of these last spring in Wash DC right down the street from the Verizon Center.
A flash mob of Amish youts stripped a beverage truck clean in 90 seconds.
Being that it was in DC, about 30 seconds later about 100 LEOs showed up and the mob just evaporated.
A group of about 7-8 of them ruined our evening the other day in downtown Asheville. All of them showing the top 6 inches of their underwear, shouting and running around like banshees. Zero respect for the people around them, but I bet they demand respect from others.

why does the media identify them as teenagers, but not by any other chacteristics? EWhy is it okay to mention their ages but not their race, for example?
Shouldn't have the NSA been able to nip this in the bud with all the spying that they seem to have been doing with our phone records?
