Patriots' Hernandez taken into custody

American football player Aaron Hernandez has been taken from his home in handcuffs after a Boston semi-pro football player was found dead in an industrial park a mile from his house.

Family members say the dead man, 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, was dating a woman whose sister is Hernandez's fiancee. Officials ruled the death a homicide but did not say how Lloyd died.

It's unclear why Hernandez, who plays for the New England Patriots, was being taken into custody Wednesday morning and put into the back of a marked police car.

State police have searched in and around Hernandez's home in North Attleborough several times. At least three search warrants have been issued in connection with the investigation.

unclear?

You don’t arrest someone for questioning

He is under arrest for a crime, he is undoubtedly going to be arraigned for something

It doesn’t matter who he played for, if he’s guilty he should face the full force of justice..............

This is really an unbelievable story. There are guys in sports that would be less surprising, but Hernandez seemed pretty bought into the Patriot way (I am not Pats fan, but appreciate their organization’s way of selecting and managing players). He had some issues in the past, but nothing of this magnitude.

I think he is from the same city as where ESPN has its HQs. Get ready for a “Behind the Lines...”

When Hernandez was rookie with the Pats, Wes Welker said something to Hernandez in the locker room and in response he threatened Welker. A thug is a thug is a thug...[reported a few days ago in the NY Post]

They have him on obstruction of justice for destroying his cell phone and security system hard drives(evidence).
They will use these charges to hold him and most likely add more serious charges later.

You can take the boy out of the hood........
