RE “
We can do this without granting amnesty and without granting a new pathway to citizenship, said Chairman Carter.
Up to now, “comprehensive immigration” had always been a code phrase for amnesty or path-to-citizenship.” I recall that months ago Rubio was on TV claiming that this Senate bill has no ‘special’ path to citizenship, that its the same as now except they don't have to leave this country to get it.
Rubio is slick really slick.
Before the vote he was saying he understands why conservatives distrust government to close the borders, that we are good patriotic people.
Unfortunately he is not using it against Dems, instead against us.

(To GOP : Any path to US citizenship IS putting them ahead in line. Stop lying about your position.)

RE:”
Gutierrez: Boehner a ‘Friend and Ally’ in Immigration Reform Fight” Bohner is now on record saying that he will not put up an immigration bill up for a vote unless it has GOP house majority (>~51%) votes, he says that includes after conference bill too.
That means he will have to actually count the GOP votes before the real vote, something Pelosi did religiously and successfully that he doesn't seem to do often.
So this should be some ride.
What kind of bill will get half of house Republicans? (hopefully he sets his goal higher than half)

We can do this without granting amnesty and without granting a new pathway to citizenship, said Chairman Carter. The House might vote on what they call a "comprehensive" bill without a path-to-citzenship. Or maybe they will try to double cross us. Who knows.

(Fool me once, shame on you -- twice, shame on me -- 100 times, it's U. S. immigration policy.)
