She's hard. She's black. And your assumptions about her background and lack of education make you feel like you are better, somehow. That her testimony, no matter how powerful and impactful it may be to this trial, is implausible. Weak, maybe? Let's impeach her. But maybe the reason white people don't understand Rachel Jeantel has something more to do with white privilege....

"White privilege" paid for that courtroom and those laws with their tax dollars.

My assumptions are based on the fact that she is 19 and still a high school senior, who cannot read and can barely speak. Let's face it, she does not have a bank president job anywhere in her future.

My assumptions also include that in the USA everyone is pretty much guaranteed high school education, but I guess taking advantage of that would be "acting white" huh?

What they should be teaching these kids is that life is tough, it's even tougher if you're stupid. (And even tougher still if you're WILLFULLY stupid.)
