Earlier this afternoon, we reported on how despite the controversy over her past use of racial epithets, celebrity cook Paula Deen is experiencing a surge in book sales on retailer Amazon. The sales spike was so strong that her newest book, Paula Deen’s New Testament, hit #1 on the site’s Best Seller list despite not being released until October.
It turns out those huge pre-sale numbers are for naught. The book’s publisher has canceled its release.
In a statement released Friday afternoon, Ballantine Books announced it has dropped Deen and will not publish Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up, despite its pre-sale soaring to #1 on the Amazon chart this week.

The valuable thing in all of this, as pathetic as it is to watch, is to watch the spectacle of a true believer begin the saga by using the platform of her show to advance the cause of the two most liberal, anti-American, radical racists ever to occupy the living quarters at the White House only to see her consumed in the end by the very thing she advocated in her ignorance.
It is the parable of the scorpion and the frog in real life.
PAULA: “You two are charismatic, young and ALL of you stand for everything I stand for! If I have Michelle and Barack on my show, you all will treat me well, won’t you?”
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: “Of course we will. Why wouldn’t we? We would get to the White House, and your show will prosper! We both have a lot to gain.”

PAULA: “I helped advance the cause, didn’t I? You said you would treat me right, didn’t you? Well, I...wait...wait...what? No, I am not a racist! I love you guys, we stand for the same things! I had you on my show, I donated money, had parties...I...”
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: You planned a southern style wedding with black only servants. You used the “N” word.
PAULA: “No! Wait...I’m no racist! You are misinterpreting what I said! I have always been one of the strongest backers of hate speech legislation! I have never believed there was any gray area or context involved...hate speech is hate speech, and must be punished all the time and everywhere, with no exceptions!”
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: “Exactly.”
PAULA: “But I am not a racist, this is what I meant when I used the *N* word...I was trying to explain how it wasn’t always a bad thing! Look you use the *N* word to talk to each other, and I was one of you!”
MICHELLE, BARACK AND THE LIBERAL ESTABLISHMENT: “Sorry. Racist. We are beginning a campaign to have you fired. Our objective is to make people like you pariahs. Racist.”
PAULA: “I’m a good person! I mean well! I am an advocate of women and minorities! I supported you! I’m one of you! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, WHEN YOU ***PROMISED*** ME YOU WOULD TREAT ME WELL! WHY? WHY ARE YOU DESTROYING ME WHEN YOU ***PROMISED*** ME! WHY?”

One would hope that there are some liberals out there who have watched this unfold and thought “There for the grace of God go I...” and take a different look at things because of it.

What amazes me is that a publisher would blow a chance to make big book sales. I doubt they dropped her on principle....probably thought it would cost them more money to keep her than to ditch her. Their reasoning is flawed....ghetto dwelling blacks don’t read. So, they don’t buy books. Not too bright this publisher.

So what? You gave up on WHAT? Who cares? As I read your screed, nothing you’re upset about relates in any way to the current story. You need to pay more attention.
This is a crazy story, about much more than Paula Deen. If you can’t read the story and see that, then you are the problem.
This is scary shit. Or however I should abbreviate it. She did nothing wrong, and yet she’s been forced to “apologize” and has lost most of her income. And what of the person who filed “charges” against her? Clearly vindictive, but why? Such a strange, strange story. But one we all should keep in mind, because, without even a hint, it could be one of us.
I had dinner at her restaurant in Savannah - good, not great.
I do stand by her on this charge though ... she isn’t the first and she won’t be the last to use that word.
(She is a Democrat who voted for 0bama. Hopefully, she’s now aware of her flawed ideology that she’s now become a victim of.)

Publishers aren't known for their brilliance.
Vince Flynn(r.i.p.) was rejected by many publishers then self published and was very popular and then got a publisher.
I think Dems see Deen as a lost cause anyway..since she’s a Southern Dem, she is a waste of their time..I dont see libs getting morally outraged about Baldwin, because he is a big time Commie lover..since Deen is from the South, and Dems will never win the South, they can really care less what happens to her
I think the media is treating Deen unfairly. I heard one anchor person say, that Deem was just like the millions of whites in the south. Not true. The media is the most self absorbed about race and behavioral choices of people than anyone in our culture. Deem should be quiet to allow time for the media frenzy to cool off. Her reputation has been destroyed by her own associates.
Also, what I see from this it shows why the republicans do not go after Obama. They seem to know that each would be accused of hating a black man (which I am not saying, it would be a justified reason not to attack Obama’s polices at all/ and his overreaches)
I think Deem voted for Obama. I know some do not like her(maybe for that alone) Though, to me, they are about to tar and feather her in front of us or possibly to cause the woman to have a nervous breakdown. She made a personal word in private. I don’t use the word nor would justify my friends to use it but it was her private thought. This looks like the word police. The left call Tea Party, teabagging in reference to a smear. Now, they are all about morality.
Most of these big corporations dropping Deen are headed by liberal CEO’s, or maybe by a couple of more conservative CEO’s that are afraid of Obama’s thugs, so they will take down a liberal woman in order that the taint of her being a racist for remarks she made 30 years ago won’t rub off on their business.
Paula Deen is also a target as she looks and speaks like an old fashioned, folksy southern cracker type. That blond poofy hair, those bright penny blue eyes, that southern drawl. With a brother nicknamed Bubba. She reeks of southern wasp, must be prejudiced, must be taken down. And all the liberal jerks are getting off on it. Maybe Paula Deen better sit down and figure out who her friends really are, and it ain’t the liberal Dems. They have hung her out to dry.
Thing is, we can ALL see that it could, would be, and is any one of us.
What liberals fail to see, and I hope this helps them understand this, is that it could be THEM as well. The truth is, they don’t for a single second BELIEVE that it could be any of them.
They are always the most surprised, to quote Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn: “Me? What for?”
Well, all that is left is for the liberals to divide up the carcass. A feeding frenzy as we speak.
