Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican nominee for vice president responded to a Fox News Channel viewer’s Twitter question Saturday about the possibility of her and conservative talker Mark Levin abandoning the Republican Party and creating something called the “Freedom Party.”

No kidding — you forget she resigned as governor, not exactly the trait of a “fighter”.

Freedoms just another word for nothing left to lose.
Not everybody comes to the same destination at the same speed. We need to find a way to accommodate that. We need to welcome people who cross that line with a slap on the back, a grin, and a handshake while we say “Glad to see you finally made it!” instead of derision and ridicule.
I use this example that I relate below because it relates to me personally, but I don’t think that I’m alone in responding this way.
It took me long time to come around to the realization of what John McCain was as a politician and a person. I had personal reasons for doing so, reasons like growing up in a military family, being completely engrossed in the POW issue is a military dependent living overseas, and finally, actually having John McCain is my commanding officer for a period of time.
I made some comments in defense of John McCain in a couple of threads, and nobody jumped on me too hard, which probably illustrates how inconsequential that defense must’ve been. There was a Freeper who sent me an email, and it was a very calm, and reasoned email. It said something to the effect of “I understand how you feel, and why you say the things you do, but you have to come around and look at the issue logically and understand that John McCain is not your friend. I have read some of your posts, and your ideology is very far removed from that of John McCain, and he does not have your best interests, or the best interests of the country at heart. You need to find a way to see the truth and accept it.”
Now, I don’t recall who that Freeper was, but I often wish that I could remember so I could thank him appropriately. He understood immediately upon reading one of my posts how difficult it would be to separate John McCain the liberal, Republican, maverick from the Naval pilot, POW, commanding officer John McCain. And he helped me.
I’m grateful for that. It was a “sacred cow” that I had to slay in my mind, and I had to do it myself. Nobody else could do it for me, it had to be me. I have a tendency to be very stubborn when I’m being attacked, and I sometimes think that if that guy had attacked me vigorously, I might still be stuck where I shouldn’t be.
We need to figure out how to do the same for people who need to slay the sacred cow of “The Grand Old Party”. We need those folks.
There I nothing to indicate that the "ballot" box can either reestablish Constitutional government or, since we are years beyond the event horizon, slow the headlong rush into the abyss of "a thousand years of darkness".

It’s about time. Sarah doesn’t need those turncoats. They need her. They just don’t know how badly they need her. But they’ll find out.
I think the party for breaking from England was a minority party, at least to begin with. I'm not talking about seceding from the Union but THE GOP CONTINUES TO SECEDE FROM ME, so if there's a viable alternative with viable people like Sarah, who I greatly admire, I may be in.
I wish it could be like Washington and some of the founders believed - no factional parties, just those for America or not - kind of like the values the Tea Party hold dear. God bless them. But I think until we get to Heaven and Jesus comes to rule as the Price of Peace, I think factionalism is a reality we have to live with as it was a reality in Washington's time. However, Washington's words are worth reflection and contemplation. Here's a sampling...

Well, I liken it to the old proverb about honey attracting more bees than vinegar does, and I think it’s true.
On the other side of that coin, it is another staple of human nature that relishes the act of saying “I told you so…”.
The side that would say I told you so needs to spread little more honey on it, and the side that’s coming in out of the cold has to be a little more willing to be able to hear I told you so and roll with it.
I think conservatives can do it.
The only jobs fedgov is protecting and will ever protect is their own stinking lousy bureaucratic, wasteful, economy-sinking jobs. They will doing everything in their power to keep and grow their bureaucratic jobs and agencies. It's in their best interests. Self interest is just as alive and well in government as it is in business. The only difference is the free market works though voluntary cooperation to achieve those self interests, whereas with fedgovt it's coercion and force on you and I to achieve their self interests.
Fedgov a beast with a life of its own and it couldn't care less about you or me. (BTW - it was never meant to.)

Don't fail to learn that history is telling us that there are TWO WINGS ( Repub/Dem ) but still only ONE BIRD.

That's a good point. But if they pass the open border legislation, there will be nothing left to save, and no alternative.
Wasn’t the Republican Party a new party at one time, replacing the Whigs?
