The DDT ban was imposed once folks recognized that millions of third world lives were being saved through the control of malaria.
The documented “reasoning” was “OMG, if these populations thrive, they will want control of their own natural resources”.
Interestingly Nixon and Ford were the advocates of third world population control and the DDT ban.
