Today, July 2nd, is DAY #17 (of 4th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.
Today Detective Chris Serino will be back on the stand. [Yesterday ended] on the stand with Chris Serino, who was the lead investigator for the Sanford Police Department on the Trayyvon Martin shooting.
Defense counsel Mark O’Mara led cross-examination with his usual consummate skill, obtaining responses from this witness–remember, the State’s witness–that all but completely guts the State’s charge in this case.
Among the key revelations so far: Zimmerman was always completely cooperative, open, and straightforward with all the police investigators over many weeks of multiple interviews, both in person at the police station and phone. Then it was an error. No biggie at all.
“Serino just said that GZ was in vehicle when told not to follow —” Weren’t the dispatchers words something like “We don’t need you to do that”?
Our neighborhood has been burglarized several times and we now DO follow strangers who wander in and ask if there’s anything we can do to help them, ie Are they lost , etc. They just say no and leave. It takes upwards of an hour for any police to respond so a Neighborhood Watch may have prevented more crime.
The dispatchers wording were NOT an order to me. And, yes, everyone of those assholes got away with burglaries before we actually started watching.
Wondering if MOM is going to question Serino on his original “attempt” to file manslaughter?

I just can’t imagine anyone, let alone GZ, being sent up for even one year for this incident (self-defense in the action of trying to protect one’s own neighborhood from crime).
If that happens, we ALL need to be on guard henceforth... because this kind of injustice could happen to ANY of us.
Ok, in a reenactment. I remember him saying that. I knew he hadn’t testified, but I didn’t know if one of his statements was under oath for some reason. I’m sorry.
I wondered about the arms when I heard him say that, because the pics looked different. I shrugged it off as he was still alive and attempting to grab his chest, but expired in the process. So that part of GZ statement would seem consistent, I think.
When is he going to ask about the external pressure from outside forces to force him to file charges?
That’s nothing. You should have seen what happened here a year ago when a few posters had bad things to say about Noot Gingrich.
Serino didn’t want to get blamed for “racial profiling” so he dodged that one.
Guy in hoodie straying off sidewalk if he were on patrol would be stopped and asked, “Do you live here?”
Cultural divide: Blacks say Zimmerman had an “ass whooping” coming his way just for following TM. Even with a video that showed exactly what Zimmerman claims happens, they’d still say he was guilty.
Try bringing this up with black co-workers and it’s “They told him not to follow and he did. So he guilty!”
Yes, which the MIami Dade School Police Department covered up in order to improve their crime statistics.

Dispatchers worried about liability. Likely told to instruct people NOT to confront anyone committing a crime and just wait for police.
And someone who admits that he may or may not have bothered to stop and question anyone that was walking or loitering in the rain at night. And we know NOW how the Sanford police refused to report certain incidents committed by certain people (the Amish) to keep their crime-level stats artificially low. Yeah. It all fits right in.

I have no problem with that whatsoever.
I can follow anyone I want on public streets in my neighborhood, and they do not have a right to try and kill me.
