Scott Walker, the prominent Republican governor of Wisconsin, has endorsed a path to citizenship for immigrant workers, in comments that come amid uncertain prospects for the immigration overhaul on Capitol Hill.
A significant percentage of Wisconsin farmers depend on migrant workers, many of whom are currently undocumented

Time to Separate from these worthless Repubs and all DRats. Split the country now!
Would Ted Cruz agree to a moratorium on all immigration? I read that he is another of those that claim that unlimited legal immigration is beneficial!
RIGHT!
I think he might support that until that border is SEALED.
I now have such a deep reservoir of distrust towards the GOP that in many ways I can’t say I’m entirely surprised upon hearing about Walker. Especially after Paul Ryan and Marco “Judas Goat” Rubio.
Although I’ve been exclusively a Republican voter my entire life, the chances that I will ever again pull the lever for a Republican candidate gets increasingly smaller by the day. Indeed, if this amnesty goes through, there will be no chance in hell.
Had high hopes for Walker too.
No it doesn’t.
A path to citizenship (in my generation) means that the immigrant applies at the US Embassy and fulfills all requirements until he/she is granted a visa. Then, he/she fulfills all requirements after they are here. Then they take the tests, and if they pass, they are granted citizenship. Unlike natural born citizens, or native born citizens, their citizenship can be withdrawn and they can be deported, if they break the law.
Don’t add a bunch of caveats that were not in my words.
Yes it does, but the kinship factor still rewards the most points so 80-85% of the permanent legal immigrants will be based of family reunification. It is not a merit based system, which is why the guest worker program is being doubled.
Obama is now saying he wont even enforce his own Obama-care law, so maybe your idea wont be tried either,.
You are dissembling, Look at the title of the thread. And do you realize that 60% of all green cards issued annually are change of status cases, i.e., people who are already in the country? The message is get here anyway you can and then use the courts to get what you want. A friend of mine who was a DOJ lawyer in ICE said the saying was, “It isn’t over until the immigrant wins.”
” Obama is now saying he wont even enforce his own Obama-care law”
LOL.....Obama is so lawless, he won’t enforce his own laws.
You are dissembling. You are trying to make it seem that I wrote something that I did not. Just read the words, or did your education fail to teach you critical reading?
I’m done with you.
Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. But that's not what it means to Scott Walker, the subject of this article.
Until recently (I noticed a couple of years ago), those in the legal green card process would arrive in this country with a permanent resident visa, and then wait for a change of status/interview/green card. Now it seems that as soon as the arrive here they receive a green card.
What part of that 60% applied for permanent residence the old fashioned way, starting in their own country?
Et tu, Scott? Well, the Republican party can kiss me goodbye. Is the least they could do after screwing me.
Governor Walker recognizes that we have a broken immigration system
I am so sick and tired of them quoting the broken immigration system-it is not a broken immigration system, it is a broken enforcement problem of the current lies.
Its the Ag lobby behind this.
I hope that he didn't say that. I'd be disappointed, but not terribly surprised given how many others in the GOP of joined the chorus of Mexican bootlicking. Cruz is one of the only voices in the Senate fighting amnesty, so it would be all for naught if he had his own open borders agenda.
Open borders enthusiasts have a number of bait and switch tactics. They're all variations on the theme of "Of course I'm against illegal immigration! So let's solve the problem by making illegal immigration legal!" This can be done through amnesty, or by liberalizing immigration law to the point where anyone can legally enter and stay at any time.
Here'a an interesting article that lists several groups, including (Koch Bros) American for Prosperity...
