An official at Sonoma State University ordered a student working at a freshman orientation fair to remove or hide a cross necklace on two separate occasions. The unnamed official feared that other students could be offended by the two-inch-long symbol of Christianity.
The first of the two incidents occurred at the public school in Northern Californias wine country on June 27, reports Fox News. The official, an orientation supervisor, warned Sonoma State student Audrey Jarvis that the chancellor enforced a policy against wearing religious items.

it’s an unconstitutional policy. liberty counsel could easily win this case.
I guess someone needs to start making necklaces with the name of the Lord in arabic calligraphy
She should sue him for sexually harassment, since being asked to remove the cross proves that he got caught staring at her breasts, and was then looking for an excuse to cover up for his offensive and illegal behavior.
“...offended by the two-inch-long symbol of Christianity.”
kinda makes them sound like blood sucking vampires, huh?
That’s bull****.
It’s a capital letter “T”
Why isn’t the orientation supervisor named in the article? I’ve noticed a trend in journalism to identify the so-called conservative, Christian victim by name, but not the wrong doer. Hence, all the libtards on the Internet can lay their scorn upon the victim, but the wrong doer.
I’m quite certain that religious head gear is just fine...
After the outcry, Sonoma State University issued an apology. When the Liberty Institute gave notice of their intent to weigh in to this situation, “management” issued the apology. However, did they fire the unamed “orientation supervisor” for his treatment of student, Audrey Jarvis? This type of religious bigotry is just as bad as calling someone the N-word.
Liberals never think through their dishonest duplicity.
Per a thread posted earlier today, the school president has apologized for the incident. They apparently were unable to contact the student in question at the time the apology was released (to the press).
Who will take care of removing that “official”?
I am serious.
Remove it ( not him or her) now.
And publish their address.
It is long past time we use their tactics.
Not that all wear one but it is California—I guess no one of Mexican descent goes to this school.
“They apparently were unable to contact the student in question at the time the apology was released (to the press).”
The professors will take care of her when it comes time to issue grades. If she received any scholarship money this year the administrators will take care of her when financial aid decisions are made for next year.
The system may have lost round one but in the end it always wins.
It is long past time we use their tactics.
Ruthlessly.
I learned in college to have zero respect for the petty tyrants in the administration, and had no qualms calling them on the table in public at open forum meetings for thier bald face lies.
I will NEVER return to academia... if I did, no doubt, I would not be so tolerant and civil... as I once was... any lies or bullshit like in this article... grounds for an automatic punch in the face.
