US airlines cancel México flights due to volcano

At least six U.S. airlines canceled more than 40 flights into and out of Mexico City and Toluca airports Thursday after the Popocatépetl volcano spewed out ash, steam and glowing rocks, airport officials said.

Mexico City airport spokesman Jorge Gomez said U.S. Airways, Delta, United, American and Alaska Airlines canceled 47 flights as a precaution. But he said the airport otherwise continues to operate normally and that by Thursday afternoon no ash had reached the area, about 40 miles (70 kilometers) from the volcano. …

Alaska got some active ones too. Lots of unrest and movement . How long can it be before the big one in California and it falls into the Pacific?

Volcanoes are getting active around the globe. Mexico, Alaska, Iceland, Italy, New Zealand, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Kamchatka has a huge one spewing lava, the big island of Hawaii has much increased volcanic activity.

Long Valley has had 2800 tremors in the last week or two. There is lots of activity under a volcanic area near Clearlake too. Harmonic tremors from magma movement. The Lassen volcano is show sign of life too.

I spend as much time as I can spare visiting Yellowstone. The area south of the Norris area (where few trails exist for visitors) has had many earthquakes in the last week.

California has volcanoes too. Mount Lassen is considered active, what with the last eruption occurring in 1917.

Love that area! Of what I’ve seen of it.
Was in Kilo when the Japanese earthquake hit Because of the tsunami we headed across the saddle and was met by an earthquake there. Still took the helicopter up to see the volcanoes. A hands on 24 hour experience on just how powerful and exciting this world is. And to think some idiots think we might be able to control any of it. Respect it Study it. But there’s no control of it just of ourselves

The daily suspicious0bservers 4 minute Youtube briefs include analysis of the solar magnetic fields and coronal holes. There seems to be a fair correspondence between coronal openings and big earthquakes. I also enjoy watching for CMEs and the aurora that follow.

We were suppose to see the aurora from our area a few weeks back. Have seen in twice here in Indiana. Waited but it didn’t show !
I knew the flares influences many things. Think there may be more then we know at this time.
