Nicaragua willing to give Snowden asylum: president

MANAGUA — Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega said Friday his government was willing to give political asylum to US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden "if circumstances permit" it.

"We are open, respectful of the right to asylum, and it is clear that if circumstances permit it, we would receive Snowden with pleasure and give him asylum here in Nicaragua," Ortega said at a public event.

I wonder what would be a worse punishment, jail time for espionage in one of our jails, probably TV, library time, education time, exercise, writing a book etc.

Or going to a third world turd pile like Nicaragua and doing what?

China has plans to build a canal in Nicaragua from the Pacific to the Caribbean as a direct competition with Panama. China could be in on the Snowden deal—may be already.
