Immigration Reform Bill Protects Organized Crime Groups And Dirty Public Officials

Congress is poised to grant amnesty to about 20 million non-documented aliens who violated United States immigration laws, and further will provide immunity from prosecution to those who engaged in tax fraud, identify theft, document forgery and other crimes associated with their illegal status. Incredibly, those who engaged in criminal behavior are not even required to come clean about their pasts in exchange for such sweeping immunity. The willingness of Congress to ignore this criminal history is inexplicable given that border security supposedly is the quid pro quo for the amnesty program and its attendant immunity provisions, and the illegal aliens at issue could provide invaluable information against the Mexican drug cartels and other organized crime groups.

Typically when a prosecutor provides a criminal with immunity from prosecution the subject must confess all his crimes and cooperate against his cohorts. However, under the current bill Congress is overlooking the opportunity to obtain intelligence data from the illegal aliens. For example, learning the entry points at which they crossed, who escorted them over the border and whether any officials were paid off would help law enforcement to close border gaps, target smuggling groups (including drug cartels) and root out public corruption. Moreover, once over the border, many illegal aliens engage in identity theft, tax evasion and document forgery, and often use the services of unscrupulous lawyers, accountants and other professionals to cover their undocumented status.

If Congress in fact is serious about border security under the pending bill then it should require that in exchange for amnesty and other immunities each illegal alien who applies is required to explain the circumstances in which he crossed the border and identify those who provided criminal cover for him once over the border. Of course, this glaring deficiency in the so-called immigration reform bill would be apparent to the politicians if the advice of law enforcement was sought in its drafting but curiously they were kept out of the loop.

Indeed, U.S. border agents are calling on Congress to scrap the bill as written because “if it ever became law, would be putting politics over public safety” according to a joint statement from USCIS National Council president Kenneth Palinkas and ICE National Council president Chris Crane as reported by Matthew Boyle for Breitbart: “The legislation was guided from the beginning by an anti-enforcement special interests and, should it become law, will have the desired effect of these groups: blocking immigration enforcement.”

As the conservative Center for Immigration Studies points out, “Illegal aliens will be rewarded for breaking laws for which American citizens are routinely punished” such as the use of fraudulent Social Security cards, while imposing a $1,000 penalty that “in many cases would be waived. Then they would be issued a new Social Security number without any past bad credit or arrest records.”

TALKING POINTS---Just before the IR procedural vote, Judiciary Committee member Sen Grassley offered a simple amendment to the Judiciary Committee considering voting the immigration bill out of commmittee. "The secretary (of homeland security) may not grant registered provisional immigrant status to an alien under this section unless the alien fully discloses to the secretary all the names and Social Security account numbers that the alien has ever used to obtain employment in the United States," said Grassley's amendment.

Grassley's amendment would not have prohibited illegal aliens from being converted into legal aliens just because they had used names and Social Security numbers that did not belong to them. It would only have required that the illegal aliens make the names and numbers they used known to DHS before they could be granted the right to legally live in the United States.

Grassley said, "Congress should not thumb its nose at the millions of Americans who are victims of identity theft, often perpetrated by an undocumented person who steals Social Security numbers to get jobs, govt benefits, driver's licenses and more. This amendment will simply require the person applying for RPI status to disclose any previously used Social Security numbers," said Grassley. "It's the first step to helping clean up the mess that's been created for the victim of identity theft. The amendment also authorizes certain federal agencies, upon receipt of this information, to notify individuals who were the victims."

ON RECORD AS AIDING AND AETTING FELONIES Ranking member Sen Schumer dismissed Grassley's proposal. "When people are living in undocumented status, there are times, I suppose, when they've made up identities, made up Social Security numbers," Schumer told his Judiciary Committee colleagues. "How are they going to remember all that, and are we going to delay RPI status? "(The) purpose of this bill is to bring people out of the shadows. We all know when they lived in the shadows, they had to forge documents, forge Social Security numbers, et cetera. I just don't see how, when you've lived here 10 years, and you've had many different identities, many different numbers, you're going to remember them all," said Schumer.

No other country is allowing this many immigrants. This Amnesty bill will be the death of the USA. The millions of new 3rd world immigrants will vote for socialism/democrats.

Only chance to stop the Amnesty bill is for the House not to consider any immigration related bill at all.

Michelle Bachman explained it. ANY House bill no matter if it promises all the border security in the world will be a trojan horse.NO bill at all must come out of the House because it will be merged with the Senate Amnesty and trojan horse bill. Call congress.

Tell them to stop all Amnesty or immigration bills.they are all trojan horse bills. some will promise border security that will never be enforced anyway.

Bachmann explained it . The House will write a border security bill only . then in conference the senate will add the virus and then bring it back to the house. then the conservatives won’t vote for it but democrats will all vote for it so then they only need 10% of republicans to pass Amnesty and the virus that will destroy America. so any bill at all will be added the virus . so best thing is for Boner to not let any immigration bill at all come out of the House. that is the only hope . call boner and the members of the House.
