Delay of employer mandate only latest snag in implementing ObamaCare
FOX News ^ | July 6, 2013 | By Jim Angle

The Obama administration delaying the start of the employer mandate part of ObamaCare this week is not the first snag in implementing the president’s signature health care law.

Other parts of the 2010 law have already been delayed or discarded, including a requirement that businesses fill out an IRS form for any purchases over a year exceeding $600. Congress repealed that in June 2011.

“It was extremely onerous (and) raised very little revenue,” says Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former Congressional Budget Office director and chief economic policy adviser to Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain during his 2008 presidential campaign.

Amanda Austin, a public policy director for the National Federation of Independent Businesses, compared the IRS 1099 requirement to the employer mandate, which required many small and medium-sized businesses to provide employee health insurance or face paying penalties.

She argued both came with “tons” of “extremely complicated” paperwork and that the changes were in large part the result of business uproar.

“I think you heard a lot from businesses, really an outcry of why are we doing this,” she said about the IRS requirement. “And down the road obviously we got the provision repealed.”

You can repeal a President???

Oh. Wait. You meant repeal SoetoroCare.

Dang it.

President Enema is desperate to win back The House in 2014. It wouldn't surprise me if he called for repealing Obamacare himself if he thought it would do the trick.

I cannot believe that this disaster mess is still walking. It’s like the Terminator.

If a Republican had put this horror show together and foisted it on America, the caterwauling from the Democrats and the MSM would have been audible on the moon.

It’s just beyond belief. Ideology and ignorance has trumped everything. The Republican opposition seems to be clueless.

I don’t get it.

But the requirement that individuals buy insurance is still in place.

Yes, and there’s something very rotten about that fact.

Although Obama hates certain business people, there are cronies of his that he favors - for political purposes. And let’s not forget that big labor would also get this reprieve.

Therefore this is playing favorites. The bigger and more powerful you are and if in the crony class, you are politically valued enough to get “reprieved”. Whereas the individual is persecuted without recourse or relief. Because it’s so easy to “pick off” a subset of individuals one at a time...

IOW, they think they can get away with doing it “just because they can”.

I say this. If nearly everyone who falls into this category of individuals being discriminated against this way would boycott obamacare, just refuse, do civil disobedience to the extent possible, suddenly the individual would have a lot more CLOUT.

Also, where are our elected representatives on this? Where are our governors on this? And where are the lawsuits being brought by some who will stand up and sue them for unequal treatment under the law. That is the grounds on which Sebelius was court ordered to allow the young girl to become eligible for a lung transplant.

I’m not a lawyer or legal expert. But something is very rotten with this arbitrary, capricious and totally one-sided decision that favors some entities while devastating individual Americans.

If that mandate is not being implemented now INHO it will never be implemented. The 2016 GOP Presidential candidate can campaign on eliminating penalties.

What is to stop the 2016 GOP Presidential candidate campaigning on eliminating the mandate? Precedent has been set?

The question now is , :Will the feckless House Republicans join with the Leftist enemies of America to FORCE the employer mandate because Obama has no power - none whatsoever - to order the suspension of this part of the law. Let the GOP help force it and watch the howls from the results. Since those results WILL happen AFTER the next election Boehner should force them to happen before Nov 2014 so the Democrats will be stuck with this disaster.

My FRiend, you are making the same error that I did. And that is assuming that the Republican Party wants to win elections. That the Republican Party has America’s interest first and foremost. That the Republican Party would like to be the majority Party. The Republican Party is not interested in winning elections. The Republican Party is not interested in America’s interests. They are concerned only with the interests of the NWO. The Republican Party could not care less about being the majority Party. They are totally happy and satisfied with being the minority Party. They are happy to be the whipping boy for the Democrats for the crumbs of power and the cocktail parties the Democrats allow them to attend in D.C. They want obamacare as much as the Democrats do.

We're screwed either way.

If the employer mandate remains, businesses will go extinct costing people jobs.

Strictly speaking, individuals pay the price whether or not the employer "provides" the insurance.

As is usually the case with Socialists, we're in a sort of perpetual checkmate.

Regardless of which move we make, we're toast.

dumBO can use the excuse that zerOcare is a POS, and, that he needs a Bolshecratic House to pass single payer commieCare. Where, all your doctors are "Idiocracy."

Impeach POSOTUS and repeal POScare.
