George W. Bush on Gay Marriage, Immigration, and Why Obama Kept His Terrorism Policies
ABC News ^ | 7/7/2013 | Chris Good

President George W. Bush cautioned against criticizing gay couples, saying in an interview on “This Week” that you shouldn’t criticize others “until you’ve examined your own heart.”

Bush had waded into the revitalized same-sex marriage debate last week - if only barely - in a comment to a reporter in Zambia, who asked whether gay marriage conflicts with Christian values.

“I shouldn’t be taking a speck out of someone else’s eye when I have a log in my own,” Bush said last week.

In an interview in Tanzania with ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl, the former president explained his comment further.

“I meant it’s very important for people not to be overly critical of someone else until you’ve examined your own heart,” Bush told Karl.

As president, Bush opposed gay marriage, and Republicans pushed ballot measures to ban it at the state level. The topic has seen rejuvenated discussion after the Supreme Court overturned the federal ban on same-sex marriage, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

Well, I’m sure the homosexual SS thought it was a new day! They didn’t know they were useful tools and would quickly be put down. I assume the same will happen when the Revolution finally arrives on our shores. Revolutions are usually pretty puritanical.

I remember cringing when Bush first used the term “Compassionate Conservative”.

In two words he branded Conservatives as heartless, unfeeling meanies, just like the Liberals have always portrayed us. Bush handed them a gift with that line.

[[[So because I sin, I should celebrate someone else’s sin?]]]

Celebrate? Yes. That is what the media mafia is demanding that we do.

Actually Bush’s comment about a log in his eye was a typical Bush malapropism — born of laziness and goofiness. He was too lazy to craft a statement that makes sense. When he spoke off the cuff, the natural Bush goofiness kicked in.

No serious conservative or Christian would argue that we should not condemn gay marriage simply because straights get too many divorces. Only Bush would say such a nonsensical thing.

Good thing there is no possibility for homo dentition. Imagine chewing with a set of two upper arch teeth (maxillas) or a set of two lowers (mandibles)? Quite impossible and fodder material for the theatre of the absurd. Yet so many wise idiots of this modern era promote that same absurdity as their rallying banner for ‘Equality’. They dare trample on the design given by the Master Creator of the Universe. How STUPID and DUMB is that? VERY.

Homos want one thing - - to jam a thumb in the eye of normal people. Never forget that.
It's what their whole gay "marriage" tantrum is about.

There's a reason kids today still use phrases like, "That's so gay," as a deragatory comment. It has nothing to do with their upbringing or home environment, and is actually in direct contradiction to what the government schools relentlessly beat into them. Even the constant efforts of the decadent movie / television / news-soundbite culture to "normalize" homosexuality fail miserably when it comes to children.

No. Kids understand naturally, instinctively, that there is just something sick about a man pushing his penis into another man's anus full of turd. It's one of those things nobody needs to teach, and it is why homos instinctively feel ashamed of what they are and what they do, and why they suffer the tears of a clown even as they march with fake smiles in fake "pride" parades.

He’s lost in the weeds. “until you’ve examined your own heart” is Spiritual Awareness 101. I don’t want or need spiritual advice from any president much less one who has barely begun his own journey. He’s confused about his role as a representative of the people. If he wants to dispense spiritual guidance he should become a priest or a pastor or get a show on OWN. Presidents should stick to law and political policy.

Bush desperately wants to be liked by the media. He’s a fool. Another unprincipled sellout.

The only need we need immigration is because of killing our children who would have been the next generation of intellectuals, engineers, artists, homemakers, nurses, ne’er-do-wells, teachers, plumbers, lawn mowers, prison inmates, ditch diggers, and ICE agents.

Bush said immigration is important to pass because of a “broken system,” not to improve the Republican Party’s political standing among Latino voters. “Good policy yields good politics, as far as I’m concerned,” Bush said. In some ways, George Bush is the Jimmy Carter of the right.

Bush still selling the notion that suicide is "good policy."

It was the SA, not SS, but your point stands. The Left are just using the gays to advance their agenda. When the time comes they will be happy to shove them all into a gulag, too.

PUKE!

Real compassion is telling the truth.

His statements are emetics.

I’m not a sex pervert so I can criticize them all I want. I guess those rumors about Bush are true, since the statement about logs in one’s own eye mean that one should not be a hypocrite and condemn others for sins or faults that you have!

I’m seriously sickened.

It’s clear that the Repub party is rotten to the core.

How about we not criticize "individuals," George, and criticize the behavior. Homosexuality is a sin, George, and it will remain a sin no matter what is in my heart or your heart, and no matter what other sins you are I may do ourselves.

Speaking the truth about something does not mean that you are, "holier than thou", or that it is wrong to do so.

When leaders like yourself, George, equivocate on the most basic and fundamental moral values, then, IMHO, you are leading us in the wrong direction.

Compassionate conservatism, progressivism, go along to get along, and how we are perceived not withstanding.
