But they are not independent, they are associated. It has been in operation since before the Civil War. So if there is anything at all to Adam Smith’s declaration, you shouldn’t expect that the AP and its membership would be much of anything else but “a conspiracy against the public” a century and a half later.

INDIANAPOLIS - Police are looking for those involved in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy shortly after the Fourth of July fireworks show in Indianapolis ended.
Monquize Edwards was shot outside Circle Centre Mall about 11:30 p.m. Thursday and died a short time later at Wishard Memorial Hospital.
At the time, downtown was filled with large crowds of people leaving the fireworks display.
The area where the shooting happened has been plagued by youth violence in recent months. Police and community leaders have been looking for ways to quell that issue.

Rev. Charles Harrison of the Ten Point Coalition, a faith-based community organization that has been working to combat youth violence, was downtown with his family watching the fireworks.
He says he was troubled by the outbreak of violence and feared something would happen, because he recognized a number of the young gang members his coalition has tried to work with.
“I was concerned, because, again, I deal with a lot of these young people and these kids, and when you see a lot of these different groups gathering downtown, you become concerned,” Harrison said. “Particularly, when I don’t think we were prepared as a community for these kids coming down who normally bring this kind of violence.”

In some areas, doing so at noon would provide a similar experience. In Oakland, for example, even in the early 1990’s, there were portions of the city that whites had best avoid even in broad daylight. I’m quite sure that things have not improved.
Desperate attempt to paint a thug as a victim. Thug attacks neighborhood watch volunteer, gets shot. End of story, one less thug.

In Chicago, two black teenagers beat and robbed a 19-year-old white man because, as one of the attackers explained, they were angry about Trayvon Martin.
In Baltimore, a group of blacks beat and robbed a white man, stripping him naked, then posted a video of the assault online with the caption: “me an my boys helped get justice fore trayvon.”
In Mobile, a white man named Matthew Owens was brutalized by twenty African Americans armed with brass knuckles, bricks, chairs, bats and steel pipes after he asked them to stop playing basketball in the street directly in front of his home. As the assailants left the scene, one of them looked back at the victim, who was bleeding profusely, and shouted,: “Now that’s justice for Trayvon!”
It is unlikely that many Americans have heard of these racial attacks, because the perpetrators are protected by a media that does not want to notice that the racists are black, and their victims are white.

It should be on trial. The current state of black manhood is what got the young Martin killed.
How can Black Manhood be on trial here, the media continues to show a picture of a 12 year old child. The media continues to speak of Trayvon as a 17 year old teenager. So what’s with Black Manhood????
Irenic, you are absolutely RIGHT. Being a vet, married to a retired vet, I’ve met some REAL Black Men, they wore and are wearing the uniform of the United States. They’re putting their lives on the line for everyone of us, and the presstitues who pontificate before the public by written word and tv. The presstitutes of these United States have been putting out this black garbage since 1964. They protect the likes of jesse jackson and other trouble makers to the detriment of law abiding Blacks. We need to clean out the so called news rooms and put in people of honor and honesty.
Wanna bet, these super black-friendly tv types live in a mixed neighborhood, or apartment complex filled with black teenagers? (sarc) I’ll bet not.
You’re right tillacum - the press wants the dependence and brokenness of ghetto blacks. They don’t look at middle class blacks or blacks who serve with honor and courage in the US military. Nope. They want to focus on ginning up racial strife by beating the victim drum... it’s sick.
