Gun seizures trigger fear of massive police power: Is your front door no longer sacred?
WorldNetDaily ^ | July 8, 2013 | Drew Zahn

A flurry of recent stories about police knocking on – and sometimes knocking in – people’s front doors have raised alarms in both the U.S. and Canada about whether the home is still constitutionally protected from increasing police power.

As WND reported, High River, Alberta, has become a recent focal point of the controversy, when it was revealed Royal Canadian Mounted Police entered the flooded town after a mandatory evacuation, broke down doors and began confiscating “several hundred” firearms.

The details are eerily reminiscent of New Orleans during hurricane Katrina, when officers similarly invaded homes and confiscated thousands of weapons they uncovered.

In High River, RCMP and province officials assured citizens the only guns taken were those “improperly secured” and “in plain view” – to be stored for safekeeping and returned to residents after the evacuation ended.

But Michael Coren of Canada’s Sun News says the authorities are “lying, because we know the police actually broke locks to get into cupboards to find out if there were guns there.”(continued)

Returned only when "proof of ownership" is established.

Here in Canada they seem to think they get a “halo effect” from the rights the USA created and 53% of us defend.

But the degeneration of the most important Amendments (IX, X) certainly makes it clear why the IV and V are all but meaningless.

And in a country where the concept of Free Speech (no Amendment I here) is anathema, we should not be surprised that the rest of the BOR is confusing to them.

Now that’s strange, that’s exactly what happened to ours. The boat sunk too (true story, my BIL and nephew were on it, and were rescued by some Vietnamese shrimpers).

They aren’t ... try that crap in my neighborhood.

Hell, try “Lock Down” like in MA in my neighborhood... we will run out of ROPE before we run out of Body Bags... but will need both.

TT

They seem to get the message... so after you already told them.
P.S. Please send Blue Helmets

My guns? What guns? Oh, those you found in the records you supposedly don’t keep? Well, I sold those a couple of years ago. Yeah, they kick like mules, and ammo got sooo expensive... What’s that, a bill of sale you say? Sorry, not a legal requirement to keep one, or do any kind of background check at that time.

I know several cops here in Texas, too. Even the beat cops in Plano would stand with us. That means it would take Feds. And they’d lose.

Badly.

Ain’t going to happen here. Won’t even be tried.

So, if you leave the keys in your Assault SUV while parked in your Garage they can confiscate it, right?

Improperly secured, hmmmmmm...

Padlocks on the knife drawer?

The 12 gauge and 308 were easy. The BB’s were a bitch.

When they come for your guns, you tell them that that they were stolen and had no value so you did not file a police report. Then we get together and talk about how we transform America, not how some White House commie wants to transform America, but how we transform America after we get rid of Barack Hussein Obama the first muslim, commie in the White House!

When the supply of those bags runs short, how about using a “vacuum sealer”? The vacuum seal bags seem to work pretty well in a freezer, at least a gun wont “freezer burn”. Could be a and quick short term solution until the new bag supply arrives.

We have the same rights to bear arms in Canada as you do in the US. Unfortunately, many don’t know this and government passes illegal laws.
