Mark Begich: Sarah Palin may not be Alaska resident
Politico ^ | 07/10/2013 | BURGESS EVERETT

Sarah Palin “quit on Alaska” as governor and “ has lost touch” with her home state, Mark Begich told POLITICO.

The Democratic senator said Palin, who said Tuesday she’s considering challenging him for his seat in 2014, might not even be a resident of Alaska and is someone he won’t take seriously unless she emerges from a competitive Republican primary.

“I don’t know if she’s a resident. She’s been away from Alaska a lot and has probably lost touch with what’s going on. She should go to my webpage,” Begich said. “Most Alaskans I see on a pretty regular basis, but I haven’t seen her for a long time.”

During an interview Wednesday with POLITICO, Begich questioned four times whether Palin is even a resident of the state she once governed and said his campaign won’t go on the offensive against Palin unless she can handle Joe Miller and Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell in a primary.

“A Republican primary in Alaska? She may not survive,” he said, one of a bundle of choice remarks for the former vice presidential candidate.

Begich, a former mayor of Anchorage, has known Palin for years. He said his sister played basketball with Palin — but there’s no love lost between the two.

“I take every candidate seriously — that is if she’s still a resident, but you know she quit on Alaska what she was governor,” Begich said. “She’s been somewhat vacant from the state and quit on the state, so I wish her the best on her potential run.”

She’s an Arizona resident, now. And we need her to replace McCain, so hands off, Alaska! :)

She’s probably not a US citizen. Not constitutionally eligible. The media will be all over this!

She IS NOT an Arizona resident. Having a second place through a LLC partnership doesn’t mean that she is a permanent resident of Arizona

Sarah did not quit Alaska abut the Government failed her. She beat one demoRat 19 times in a row over frivolous lawsuits and there were others also. The state did not help her in any way and she could not afford the millions of dollars in lawyer fees she had to pay on her own.

She and Todd pay property tax on this parcel of land:

So I guess that she STILL is an Alaska Resident!

The Democratic senator [Mark Begich] said Palin, who said Tuesday she’s considering challenging him for his seat in 2014, might not even be a resident of Alaska and is someone he won’t take seriously unless she emerges from a competitive Republican primary....“I don’t know if she’s a resident. She’s been away from Alaska a lot and has probably lost touch with what’s going on. She should go to my webpage,” Begich said. “Most Alaskans I see on a pretty regular basis, but I haven’t seen her for a long time.”

That's okay. We have a Democrat President who may not even be a natural-born citizen, who seems to be on the golf course or on taxpayer-paid vacations a lot. Has our President lost touch with what's going on?

Who is Mark Begich and why should anyone care? Sounds like a case of Palin Derangement Syndrome to me.

That’s stupid. Sarah is obviously a native Alaskan. She’s no carpetbagger. Nothing wrong with getting away from the cold for a while (speaking as a New Englander!). And she was the state’s governor a short four years ago. I doubt things in Alaska of all places would have changed that much in so short a period.

And she need only be a resident of the state at the time of the election. That’s easy to do. Hillary Clinton did it. And she wasn’t born in New York, had never lived there, or been a mayor of a town there, or been the state’s governor. Give me a break!

She still has that house where that creepy author moved in next to her, doesn’t she? She’s a resident.

If Hillary lived in New York, then Sarah lived in Alaska.
