Sure, we look at the situation and figure that cooler heads will prevail. Some of them look at the situation, see that they're winning elections and political power - and figure that gives them license to drop the go along / get along pretense and act however they want. Here, that may still seem like a foreign concept - but it's very common in other parts of the world.
