MSNBC DENIES BIAS AFTER ANDREA MITCHELL LASHES OUT AT GOP OVER IMMIGRATION

Andrea Mitchell appearing on MSNBC and declaring John McCain "heroic" over his position supporting immigration reform is not out of character for her. Nor is it odd that Mitchell would blast GOP foes of immigration reform and say they "ought to be ashamed." Andrea Mitchell leans left and regularly uses her weekday show on MSNBC to drive her agenda.
What makes the moment newsworthy (you can watch the video below), though, is that when asked about it by Politico's Dylan Byers, MSNBC denied Mitchell had taken a position on immigration:
"Andrea has not taken a position on this issue," said Erika Masonhall, the director of NBC News communications. "In the full context of her comments, she was noting that business and agriculture interests, clergy, and labor communities have all said the current policy is unsustainable, and that there is no economic argument for doing nothing or only adding to border security."
