This is an astonishing turnaround for Hariri, and indicates a significant political shift. In the same statement, he warned Lebanese to stay out of the Syrian conflict (in so many words.) Up until now, Hariri had the sponsorship of the Saudis, was bitterly anti-Hezbollah, and was treated as a very credible source by Western authorities.
