George Zimmerman found not guilty of murder in Trayvon Martin's death
CNN ^ | July 13, 2013 | Greg Botelho

George Zimmerman is not guilty of the murder of Trayvon Martin, a Florida jury decided late Saturday.

The fact that Zimmerman fired the bullet that killed Martin was never in question, but the verdict means the six-person jury had reasonable doubt that the shooting amounted to a criminal act.

The verdict caps a case that has inflamed passions for well over a year, much of it focused on race and gun rights.

The six-person jury -- all women -- basically had three choices: to find Zimmerman guilty of second-degree murder; to find him guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter; or to find him not guilty.

The jurors deliberated for 16½ hours total, including 13 on Saturday alone, before delivering its verdict.

Both of whom attested that there was no real basis for this case.

Geraldo, yes. Greta, no. She’s one of the most objective liberals in the media......

IMHO, of course......

They did a great job, considering they are “stupid, emotional women”.

I never said that and I think they did a great job. I found it offensive when I heard certain liberals say that the all women jury was an advantage to the prosecution because the one prosecutor was considered to be handsome. The implication was the women would allow that to affect their verdict. Apparently not.

Yep and I said that from the beginning, dont assume anything about women juries. Im a chick and I would have acquitted Zimmerman in 2 seconds..it was an open and shut case..and should have never been filed to begin with..but I must admit when the jury wanted instructions on manslaughter I thought for sure that was NOT good news, I was wrong..God Bless that Jury!!

Almost as if they want riots and looting and people hurt and killed.

Obama wants riots otherwise he would have given a speech by now that pleads with blacks to respect the judicial system.

You forgot about Illinois passing concealed carry and the Illinois Supreme Court finally enforcing parental notification.

RE: Mine will be if the people responsible for this travesty are removed form any official position when they have power over another’s life.

THERE IS THAT ONE MATTER OF SANFORD POLICE CHIEF, BILL LEE, WHO WAS LET GO FROM HIS POSITION FOR REFUSING TO ARREST ZIMMERMAN.

WHERE IS THE JUSTICE FOR HIM?

I agree. The prosecutors are acting like they got screwed and worrying about their careers. (Only the 2nd murder charge he ever lost). They want a riot! unreal.

Still no truth. Much relevant evidence hidden then excluded. And no sanctions for the State Attorney’s Office and no justice for the Whistleblower.

The system is still crap. The case just wasn’t close enough for the biased judge and crooked prosecutors to win even with cheating.

I am watching the commentary on ABC which was the first channel I turned to.

They are at times lying through their teeth then at other times misleading and at other times saying things which might be true but probably isn’t.

They are in fact liars.

Lee got a raw deal. He knew they didn’t have a case so he didn’t make an arrest. And that cost him his job.

I thought I heard one was being prepped for this case, but yes, it was pushed passed that procedure by the state for political purposes...Sorry for the ambiguity...That’s on me...

And for what its worth, I believe someone else here said that there needs to be some real political blowback from this for those responsible for pushing it to this extreme...

After the news media companies have put Zimmerman and his family in such danger, he and his family would probably appreciate support for security and transportation to get them safely and swiftly to a secured rural area in another part of the country.

My faith won’t be restored until it becomes clear that corrupt indictments like this never see the light of day again.

I have to admit that this is the verdict the jury SHOULD have reached, but I wasn’t sure that they would be able to see through the media hype, manufactured “evidence” and BS.

Unfortunately, I don’t think this will end it for Zimmerman. On Monday, I fully expect Eric Holder’s Dept. of “justice” to file a civil rights violation or other trumped up charge against Zimmerman. If I were GZ, I would take the few hours of freedom I have at the moment and join Snowden, wherever he is before Holder can sink his fangs into him.

As much as it ought to be over, it ain’t over!!
