The George Zimmerman case should never have been brought. Saturday night after the “not guilty” verdict was delivered, State Attorney Angela Corey justified bringing the case “to put the facts out there.” But criminal cases should never be brought simply to put the facts before the public.
No one should be charged with a crime unless prosecutors themselves really believe that the person committed a crime.
Yet, the prosecution and their own experts’ language consistently showed a lack of certainty. Prosecutors aren’t supposed to bring cases where the best they can say is that something might “possibly” have happened or that there was a “chance” that it did.
Usually defense attorneys are the ones trying to get prosecution witnesses to concede that alternative explanations might be possible. In the Zimmerman trial, even the prosecution couldn’t get definite statements out of their own witnesses.
By the end of the trial, with the prosecution conceding that Travyon Martin was likely on top of Zimmerman, prosecutors were forced to speculate that possibly Martin was about to get off of Zimmerman when he was shot. That, by itself, completely undermined the prosecution's claim that Martin was the one calling for help.
The case was so weak that the local Sanford District Attorney refused to bring charges against Zimmerman. That is why, on the orders of the governor, an outside District Attorney, Angela Corey, had to be brought in to handle it.....

I think their very threats are assuming that whites should fear blacks. That in itself is racist. That from people who are allowing themselves to be replaced by hispanics in the US....amazing that they don't get it.
It's the conservative view that will save them from invasion, from being reduced to near-slave handout status, from having their neighborhoods and jobs taken over. Will enough of them wake up and stop supporting the democratic-media-celebrity-government onslaught that is causing genocide by demographics?

I always thought it would be a tactical error to plead SYG, but GZ almost got hung over the issue of "culpable negligence" and whether or not CCW = "intent".
It turns out that his most straightforward defense was that he had the right to be where he was, and Martin had no right to be banging on his head.
I'm still worried about the general application of SYG (being a common law fan), but in this case it looks like it would have helped GZ.
The court is going to release their names and addresses in due course. The absolute longest delay will be 6 months, and I expect it will be more like 4 weeks. They are better off anonymous, but they lost that protection when they were selected.
Damn skippy on the state of Florida being responsible for subjecting the jurors to this risk. Corey has a wake of damage behind her that is astounding. Unfortunately, the state is not responsible to protect anybody other than their select members, like judges, politicians and prosecutors.
He needs to do it BEFORE Zero and Holder bring the civil rights trial. Which EVERYONE knows they will, and intimidate the jury into a conviction.
But the media, being the jackals they are, don't play up Mr. Zimmerman's Hispanic background, as we all know.
I saw Ms Corey speak last night. She is one greasy piece of work.
Rick Scott is okay on some things, but he’s very much on the defensive because he’s always being portrayed by the press as the evil white guy who hates schoolteachers and blacks. In reality, he has put money into the school system, although he has demanded accountability from the teachers, which is apparently a no-no. A lot of the truly spectacular corrupton (massive cheating on state evaluation tests) was in black run schools or school districts, and his requirement that these people be prosecuted and dismissed was of course called “racist.”
He also appointed several black aides, and unfortunately, a few of them were not very good picks, to such an extent that he had to dismiss them or obtain their resignations (thus causing more screams of “racist”).
So,he’s very much on the defensive and I think he felt that going ahead with this show trial would prove his bona fides to Florida’s dysfunctional but noisy black power bloc. And course, like all GOPers, he has gone out of his way to be “bi partisan” and pick Dems for posts, such as judgeships, just as Bush did.
I wish our GOP elected officials would get over two things: feeling guilty about who they are, and believing that “ bipartisanship” works.
So this whole thing was about Scott’s desire to ingratiate himself with blacks and get them to stop calling him “racist,” which of course will never happen.
When Scott ran for Governor in 2010, he barely beat Alex Sink—I think his margin of victory was less than 1%.
The Bears family enthusiastically supported his candidacy.
Since his election, he has “grown” in office; backing-off on a number of key issues that characterized his campaign. The Zimmerman matter was the last straw—An innocent man put on trial to placate the race hustlers and perpetual victim class. The Law should bow to no man and to no threat.
If Scott decides to run for a second term, we will not support him.

For the most part, Rick Scott has been a good governor. But his stepping in to appoint Angela Corey as a Special Prosecutor when the local prosecutor, not seeing adequate cause to file charges, did not do so, has caused me to give second thoughts to his suitability for a second tem.
He did partially redeem himself when the panel he selected to review the Stand Your Ground Law came back with a recommendation for no changes.
If a viable Republican candidate runs against him in the primary, I will campaign against Scott. I’m a firm believer in 2nd Amendment rights, and the right of self defense.
Grew up in a small town South of the Mason-Dixon line myself—Within spitting distance of the old capital of the Confederacy. Both my Dad and Grand-dad were virulent racists and I’ve had to consciously strive to overcome that early influence.
What fascinates, and depresses, me is that, the farther we move from the period of slavery and institutionalized racism, the more shrilly those aspects of American history are invoked—By Blacks justifying their actions and by guilty Whites.
These little “African” princes you witnessed at the courthouse have never had to ride in the back of the bus, never had to use a separate entrance to a building, never had to drink from a separate water fountain, never were refused services of any kind; yet, they carry on as though they just recently escaped forced servitude.
A huge tantrum is playing out right now—So far limited mainly to words. I hope that’s as far as it goes; but I’m ready if things get more “physical.”
As a White, Christian, Conservative, Male, moderately successful small business owner paying taxes out the wazoo, I’m also tired of being blamed for all of society’s ills.
Yup! Some of America is turning into a garbage pile of human stink. And what is left of the real law abiding Constitutional American has dropped into the shadows, when will they come out and attack.

The fact is most of the MSM are hard core liberals communists and want to destroy America thinking that that will give them more power. They are and will destroy themselves because they hire the sick and mentally ill to promote lies and distortions.

Well, punishing her for her frankly incredible misconduct is incredibly important. Loss of her job, certainly, at a minimum.
Do I fear large groups of young black men behaving in ways that frighten me? Yes. I have the same concerns with groups of white youth, hispanic youth, or any large group that could potentially threaten me. I cross the street to avoid any of them, just as I do if I encounter groups of drunk football fans after a Browns game. It's NOT about race....it's about their culture that tells them to act like gangstas in groups.
I don't feel that way when I come into contact with one or a few well-behaved minoriites that are responsible and reasonable, of course not.
The changes they should be demanding have to be to return jobs and personal responsibility to black youth. That and say NO MORE to a culture that exploits them and benefits from their bad behavior. Listen to the media and their political and cultural icons today....they're practically begging them to protest.
