In San Francisco, demonstrators marched through the Mission District after gathering at the 24th Street Mission BART Station. Hundreds marched down Valencia Street, chanting "Justice for Trayvon Martin."
The crowd dispersed peacefully, and officers will "maintain a presence in the Mission District for the time being," said San Francisco police Officer Gordon Shyy, a department spokesman. Another protest was scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at Powell and Market streets.

Not good for downtown Oakland. Today there are so many boarded-up storefronts in what had decades ago been a thriving business district and a nice place to shop.
Oaklanders sell their “Oaklandish” logo fashions and other branded merchandise out of a sense of defiance and pride, but defiance and pride can’t make up for the fact that they routinely foul their own nest when their sense of “social justice” has been offended.

If Trayvon was doing the pound and ground on their heads, they might have a different point of view. How can people be so outraged over someone they don’t know - and lived over 3,000 miles away? Ok - that was a stupid question on my part.

I think the rioting is starting here in the west because the verdict came in so late. Tomorrow morning will be the beginning of troubles in east coast slums. In contrast to the Rodney King riots, this time around it seems far more trumped up with faked vehemence.

I'd noted on another thread the apparent absence (in my local area) of thuggish types, early this evening. I suppose they were congregating elsewhere watching for the verdict. So they'll be up bright and early tomorrow with plans for mischief? Oh wait, it's Sunday. Maybe Monday instead.

I was in one of those bars. From my perspective, it was a bunch of white occupy trustafarian assholes looking for an excuse to break some innocent entrepeneur’s stuff. They’re on camera. I hope OPD does something, for once.
Certainly as good an argument for concealed carry as you’re going to get.
