No one noticed? No one from the intern hand-off to the person making the graphic for the CBS San Fransisco outlet? How many people were in the chain who did not notice? Slurring the Pope, Mormons on Broadway, and Koreans in the news is OKay, but WW III is ready to start anytime someone satirizes the Koran, or names a football team?

LOL!!! This is so out of Atlas Shrugged: the scene where Dagny Taggart confesses over the airwaves that she was the mistress of Hank Rearden, and proudly so. She's only cut off when she explains why she revealed the secret.

So the real problem is someone at KTVU tried to get away with a simple Web search rather than go to the proper sources

Suspect you're right. Leftist journalists are stupid and lazy.

My bad: KTVU Channel 2 News is the Bay Area’s #1 TV News Station. They broadcast from 2 Jack London Square, Oakland, California 94607. A FOX affiliate.

The pilot names are funny, but the fact that the Reporter was punked makes it hilarious.

I heard this as I was driving...and laughed like crazy.

Now here's the weird thing....I heard it when it was first broadcast, hours before, and it went right over my head.

Of course reading news is not my life's work.

Am I “racially insensitive” if I still laugh when reading those names?

If that really was a “summer intern” who provided that “information,” somebody better hire him quickly. He thinks pretty quickly on his feet.

By the way, I knew before I had finished reading the first name the first time, “Sum Ting Wong,” that it was a joke.

Austin Hill creator of this article got it wong.
The names originated at KTVU, the station called the NTSB and the person there confirmed the names. The names did not originate from NTSB but from KTVU.

Now we should revisit TWA flight 800 with regard to trusting the NTSB, right?

I'm still laughing at it, every time I see it !

It was probly a conspiracy on many levels, lots of people could have caught/stopped it had they been moved to, but they weren't.

Now everyones panties are in a wad.

That sh!t is funny, right there.

KTVU is by the way a very leftist Fox affiliate.

Yup, they went from Cox to Fox.

Moe: (answering the phone) Flaming Moe’s.
Bart: Uh, yes, I’m looking for a friend of mine. Last name Jass. First name Hugh.
Moe: Uh, hold on, I’ll check. (calling) Hugh Jass! Somebody check the men’s room for a Hugh Jass!
Man: Uh, I’m Hugh Jass.
Moe: Telephone. (hands over the receiver)
Hugh: Hello, this is Hugh Jass.
Bart: (surprised) Uh, hi.
Hugh: Who’s this?
Bart: Bart Simpson.
Hugh: Well, what can I do for you, Bart?
Bart: Uh, look, I’ll level with you, Mister. This is a crank call that sort of backfired, and I’d like to bail out right now.
Hugh: All right. Better luck next time. (hangs up) What a nice young man.

Was the reporter Ron Burgandy? He would read anything off the teleprompter too.

The moral of the story is simple. The media is largely populated by lazy, ignorant people who for some reason think they’re the intellectual superiors of the rest of us. Don’t trust any supposed facts without first verifying on your own. And when they’re providing their opinion, consider that these are the same types who are duped easier than a fourth grader.

There would be Holy Hell to pay for were this Ethiopian Airlines and the play on words were for AFRICAN names, and everybody knows it. Double standard. Protected classes vs. non-protected classes in America. The former are Blacks and Hispanics; the latter, Whites and Asians. Primarily due to social achievement levels. Which is furthermore reverberates envy and class hatred by the ‘entitlement classes’ toward the others. This encourages “open season” mentality. I don’t find it particularly amusing—what with deaths of human beings involved. Big government sucks!
