Obama on Zimmerman verdict: 'A jury has spoken'

President Barack Obama urged Americans to keep calm in the wake of Saturday's jury verdict finding George Zimmerman not guilty of charges associated with the controversial shooting death of black teen Trayvon Martin.
"I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher," Obama said Sunday in a statement. "But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son."

This is political posturing.. The 2014 midterm elections are coming. He doesn't REALLY mean to be calling for honoring the jury's decision.. Behind closed doors at the 'Just Us' Dept., Holder is conjuring up Civil charges.. An EXTREME long shot given Zimm has been found 'Not Guilty'.
My hat's off to the fine ladies of the jury. I never imagined they would discard emotion and apply logical adherence to the law. Brilliant job, ladies. The State never proved their case. I hope Zimm wins BIG $$$$$ lawsuit against NBC. O'mara and West will rightfully benefit from this multi-million dollar lawsuit..

Obama also called for gun control, so this won’t happen again.
If George Zimmerman did not have a gun, he would have been dead or his brain turned to mush. And Trayvon would more than likely received a year or two in juvie.
This case and the senseless violence following it will not make me want to give up my right to have a gun.

A jury has spoken, and like you, I totally disagree with their decision. When I assume total control, I'll do away with these cracka’ juries and their guns and I alone will be rendering verdicts. I've instructed AG Holder to use whatever federal resources he needs to get justice for Trayvon and severe punishment for the White Hispanic.
