In San Francisco, demonstrators marched through the Mission District after gathering at the 24th Street Mission BART Station. Hundreds marched down Valencia Street, chanting "Justice for Trayvon Martin."

The crowd dispersed peacefully, and officers will "maintain a presence in the Mission District for the time being," said San Francisco police Officer Gordon Shyy, a department spokesman. Another protest was scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at Powell and Market streets.

I suspect there was much peer pressure to ‘show up for Trayvon’. I also suspect that many didn't really care but wanted an excuse to vandalize.

A BART police car parked outside the 12th Street BART Station had its windows smashed, and protesters spray-painted “F- the police” and “Kill Pigs” on the side of the vehicle.

can’t wait ‘til the Oscar Grant movie gets multiple nominations for an Oscar.. and just when BART is building out our direction. Gee, I hope the unions stay out of it.. could be a real mess down the road.

Arrests lead to lawsuits against police.

Yes, these people couldn't care less about Trayvon Martin and likely couldn't tell you the first thing about this case other than "white dude killed some black dude."

In their sad, empty lives, any excuse to smash a few windows and grab a free TV is good enough for them.

They could always hand out bulletproof vests and spare ammo clips to folks dining at the sidewalk cafes,, too bad, Oakland didn’t used to be a coddler of riff raff.. then Dems took power and well,, elections have consequences.. just ask all the widows and mothers who lost innocent loved ones..

From the pictures I’ve seen it looked like a mixed crowd.

Lotsa whites in SF who privately agree with the verdict but feel it necessary to proclaim otherwise in order to survive and avoid being murdered by blacks. It’s called ‘Selling Out’, or ‘If you can’t beat’em, join’em’.

Of course there're no arrests. That would be unjust.

America through the looking glass. Tweedle Dee has already instructed Tweedle Dum to prepare civil rights charges.

Remember the wonderful, rifle-totin', ferocious Koreans with the white bands around their foreheads guarding their Los Angeles businesses from the roof tops during the riots?

Maybe they should be imported from LA as Special Forces units wherever and whenever they are needed!

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan probably learned her lesson when she ordered police to halt the “Occupy” riots a year or so back. She was condemned nationally for “insensitivity” and faced a recall petition (failed). She’s trying to rebuild the police department after major corruption charges. Oakland had 3 different police chiefs within a week a couple of months ago due to interference by a court-appointed “compliance director.”

“Peaceful” used to mean the crowd acted like people at a Tea Party rally, which is much better than the crowd leaving an NFL game.

When Vietnam protests came along, “peaceful” deteriorated to include fires, smashed windows and cars, “Kill” signs, obscenities, fighting, and vandalism. As long as no one was shot or hospitalized, they were called peaceful.

When I was in college there were ‘discussions’ held in the auditorium. People brought up vandalism of school and private property done just for the hell of it. The anti-war people said, “We’re killing people in the war. Vandalism is just damaging property that can be replaced.” Oh.

They claimed to be for “peace” but they were some fairly violent people. Some, of course, I had never seen before because they were on tour from places like Columbia.

Oscar Grant was a different story all together. From what I know that was murder. He was shot to death while unarmed, on his stomach, and handcuffed.

No championships with A’s or Raiders in awhile... Oakland needs to let off steam now and again.... Oakland is a toilet and across the bridges, the ‘ur’anus’es....
